My English Korean family loves padang style food so much. So today after being a regular to sederhana masakan, we wanted to try sari ratu prima. We arrived around 1 PM, which considered not an ideal lunch time for enjoying freshly cook piping hot dishes, though we decided to go since we woke up late.
The dishes were mostly gone and some left after gathered into pile of small plates once they transferred to from the rectangular tray. We chose our all time padang dishes like dengdeng belado, rendang daging, daun ubi(singkong?), chengkol, sambal petai udang, nanka gulai with 2 rice.
But the rice seems expensive and very small in portion, so we had asked one extra. But I saw some other customers were having a massive portion of individual plates even though it's not nasi campur setting!
Anyway we also orders 2 ice water and one coffee O kosong panas for me as I needed some caffeine to wake myself fully up. The dishes we chose were all delicious and lovely, but due to the fact we went quite later lunch time, the food wasn't that warm which is one downside, but we won't repeat to come late next time anyway.
Lets talk about some our favorite padang dishes! Here, the dengdeng belado topped with red chiili is just ok, thanks to freshly made red sambal, but the beef itself wasn't that amazing unlike that of Sederhana we enjoyed. It is bcoz the beef here was way way too thin and deep oil fried I can tell, the texture was like some sort of chips in a hint of meat form. It should be more chewy and meatier jerky! Here it's just flaky chips or keropok like texture in oily form. Please better improve the thickness of the dengdeng, should be more thicker so that customers can savor the beefy flavors while biting and chewing, not feathery ultra light crisps! 🕊
The staff who was explaining the price one by one was very friendly and attentive, except the one upsetting price dispute for sambal prawn petai upon paying the bill lastly. That said, undeniably its the most surprising cons to us after the meal, that the price we were told was rm8.50 for sambal udang petai when I asked pointing it with my hand last minute, so I said satu pinggan. But it turned out to be rm 16.25, almost double price just for 5 prawns. It's ok 5 prawns for rm8.50, not for rm16.25. Basically the each prawn costs over rm3 each which seemed very very expensive. Since I live here, when I can buy fresh prawns per kilo for rm 40 easily, and i usually get 20 fresh prawns for just half kilo(rm20)😭 So i told that staff who also was in charge of the payment counter, but he said it's the price, but they only gave us 5 prawns for such high price? If we knew, we could have ordered another plate for daging rendang something. Other than these two dishes. All is amazing and tasty! 👍
Just white rice potion seems too little for rm2.25, which I couldn't get rid of in my mind until the next meal! 😂, The totall bill after 6% tax added came around rm70.
Interior is simple, yet clean and morden with a nice minang traditional house painting on the wall! Strong aircon and clean washroom too!
Despite of the price dispute for the sambal prawn udang petai, we likely come back soon to try more other yummy looking dishes at the...
Read moreWe used to frequent this place when they first opened here. Glad to see that it's still operating and still has many patrons. Food is still good but the selection is the same. If you crave for nasi padang style dishes, this is the place to be.
We were satisfied with the food we had, we ordered our usual selection of dishes: Ikan Nila Terbang, Ayam Goreng, Ikan Keli, sambal ijo and many others. Our favorite is the Ikan Nila terbang which is served together with the black sauce, so good especially if they fry it fresh for you.
Price is on the higher side, definitely more expensive than your regular economy rice but pretty standard for nasi padang dishes. We ordered 8 types of lauk with 4 plates of rice and they set us back about RM200. Of course this varies according to the types of lauk you choose.
Recommended if you're looking for Indonesian-style rice and if you're hungry because most of the lauk are already ready so they'll serve you promptly. Only thing I don't like here is the parking, however, the restaurant does have limited reserved spots for patrons for their...
Read morePreviously I love to have dinner at here. Because the food and beverage is great and the staff service also excellent.
But this year I have come here two times. First time in January 2020 but majority of the food sold out. I feel disappointed and left the restaurant.
Today I come again having dinner with my husband. Today they only left chicken and fish. I love your taste very much therefore we choose the fish and two fried chicken. I can not found a green vegetable at all. Finally I ask, then they offer me spinach with plain soup.
The food quality is maintain but no much choices. I hope have more improvements on the choices of food.
In term if beverage, we like to have star fruit juice. So delicious. But today, no this juice and we have to order a canned of Sprite.
I feel down and I wish your able to heard my voice. Therefore I decide to write in and I have in my next visit, something is surprise...
