Chengdu Dining Bar — Restaurant in Sabah

Decided to try this restaurant after read the good review by the people. One word, REGRET! We ordered many dishes but all the food are not tasty. The lamb meat is hard to chew, the spicy chicken has this oil taste, the pork is not fresh meat, the suan cai yu is not sour and it has lemon slices in the dish, the green chili pepper was mushy and the list goes on. This is not the worst, the worst part about this is the manager in charge attitude (lady from China). When we gave our feedback about the dishes, she was so defensive and do not accept our feedback. She kept saying this is impossible as these are their few hot selling items and she has tasted the food before serving. The way she spoke is as if we have never tasted sichuan food before. She also said if we were to return the dishes, then the staff will have to pay 50% of price. Look, we do not mind paying, but her customer service and attitude is totally unacceptable. Arrogant!

Stumbled upon this place by chance as we were just looking to have some food with place that is not in a rush to close as we were about 9pm doing so. Then, I was afraid china chili oil type of cooking may not suit me (which is why i am usually less inclined to try china dishes) as I have a bit of sensitive stomach but we went in and requested for non spicy food as much as possible. The food were good especially in love with the stir fry beef. The wok cooking also tasted different than southeast asian chinese wok cooking. My taste palate tasted unique and different chinese food than usual ones. Chicken herbal soup also not the usual ones i have but it is not bad at all. Staffs were friendly and I think the man talking to us is either the owner or manager but he was also quite friendly. Not disappointing at all and would love to try...
