Balkanico Pizza — Restaurant in Sarawak

(May 2023): This was my fourth time here and the pizza here is still decent and tasty!!!😋😋😋 Yeah, the beef pepperoni has the same taste as before. 🍕🍕🍕

I’ve payed a compliment to a chef named Alex, about his great business and his pizza, I’ve complimented him this “I hope that your business will be better some day”, and he accepted my compliment and he said “thanks” in a great full way. As you know, Alex is a hardworking chef, every night, just to feed his customers with his famous pizza in town, sometimes he get stressful with all the work. If you wish to give a support with a helpful words, you can a great compliment to him about his hardworking job and his pizza.

Anyways, as you know, I’m the man behind the “thin crust pizza photograph”, which appears in I love Borneo page and Sarawak rumahku, if you see my name on those articles, then you’ll know that I’ll be a famous photographer one day. 😅😅🍕📸 The pizza portion is big and the crust is thin and crispy, the best appetite for pizza lovers. 😋😋🍕🍕 Sprinkled in blended garnish, poured with olive oil and a great flavour handmade tomato sauce, cheese and thin dough. 🍅🍕🍃🧀🫒

Balkanico Pizza is, to me, hands down, the most authentic hand-made pizza in Kuching.

Our pizzaiolo (fancy word for pizza-maker hehe) who goes by the name of Aleksander hails all the way from Montenegro, Southeast Europe. I love how Aleksander makes the dough from scratch, kneading the dough with strength - it comes out from the oven as a perfect thin crunchy crust. Fresh from the oven, the pizza is amazing- from the texture, to the cheese used, and the freshness of the ingredients, it's a culinary heaven for the tongue.

The greatest highlight to me is the home-made pesto sauce - this blended green basil mixture complements the pizza perfectly! This pesto has such a strong garlicky taste, it simply made the pizza stand out immediately. He makes the pesto with freshest ingredients daily.

If you are a lover of garlic and strong spices, you can't miss this pizza with its pesto. It's too good. In my life, I've never had pizza with a stronger garlic tang. For those who aren't really fans of garlic however, you could always request for lesser or no pesto at all.

Drove to Kuching, 1000km from Brunei for food. Always been in my hit list and only got the chance to try it recently.

At first I was told sold out and walked off to a nearby stall. Before I could order, the owner told me he had enough dough to make one last pizza. I was delighted and ordered Crying Italian. Ordered a round of beer.

Pizza finally came and took my first bite. Right off the first bite, it was thin and crispy. I couldn’t taste the pizza sauce just the bland chicken. Took another bite and tasted the pizza sauce this time just barely. I enjoyed it still and finished it and still felt hungry.

I couldn’t give it full 5 stars because it lacked pizza sauce. If would have been perfect if they were more generous with the sauce. It’s recommended for those who likes thin...
