Summer Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Sepang

It's a very disappointing meal with a poor service, slow serving, bad attitudes Chinese Dim Sum restaurant located in a 5 star resort. Initially I thought I'm the only one having such bad meal experience. After reading review here, I can conclude that it's really a bad decision to dine at this restaurant.

We are 10 persons table who first seat into the restaurant at around 11:30am for eat-all-you-can Dim Sum. Later, , another 3 more being table seated (around 23-24pax-2 ala cart table and 1 table of dim sum) after few dishes being served. The ordered dim sum begin to slow down to serving 2 dim sum in 30 mins. We patiently waited until 1pm and we start losing our patient as we are still waiting for the dim sum to be serve. We call upon the captain/manager to check and ask what happened and how many order still left waiting to be serve. I was surprise by the answer Quote: "If you wanna check, your order will be pull out from kitchen and cease serving, your order almost served all" then he turn around and left. What kind of answer is that!?

Hence, the dim sum aren't fresh and taste like frozen dim sum bought from supermarket. Well... I believe this is my worst dim sum ever tasted in my life for the money paid. I can simply find a coffee shop dim sum taste better then so call 5 star resort worstless dim sum.

What terrified me is the respond from captain/manager when I ask him Quote: "is this your normal serving practice to customer (11:30am waited until 1:15pm)" Captain/manager reply quote: We are serving the Ala cart table, now, for dim sum eat-all-you-can you have to wait...I was really stunned by his reply and I felt like I begging to dine for free. At that time the whole restaurant only have 2 ala cart table and 2 dim sum table with 3 custom each table and our table. The restaurant staff only have 1 waitress, 1 captain and 1 manager.

We felt like the restaurant drag time by purpose to slow down the serving to avoid more food being serve. Even this is a buffet lunch with discounted price from a membership. Such low level disgusting tricks can easily be recognised. I believe we will never return to the restaurant again and wouldn't recommend anyone. If you are a dimsum lover and thought of giving this place a try, please read on before you decide. We booked via eatigo for 4 pax at 12pm, sunday (today). There were many tables, huge place BUT only one table occupied in the entire restaurant, on a sunday, at lunch hour, in a dimsum buffet! the restaurant was dark, some what gloomy, stuffy and just did not feel somewhat chinese-restaurant-feel. (When we left at around 1pm, there was only another table occupied, means 3 families in total, including us). Ordered a list of food (from the list provided- dont expect what you read from other reviews, no eggtarts, no yam chicken puffs, no chicken feet, and the list goes on...), with a glimpse of hope that the food would taste better than how the restaurant looks. The steamed dimsums were as though taken out of the freezer, not well heated, and either too salty, or tasteless. The fried versions were worse, could not repeat any 2nd orders as we forced all food down our stomachs, just did not want to waste what we ordered. The one star in the rating is for the dessert which was palatable (red bean and longan tongsui), the fried salted egg fish skin seemed like what it is and the service was ok.

What an unsatisfactory lunch it was, and we thought we could spend mom a fantastic delicious birthday meal....

My friend she’s on vegetarian for Thaipusam, she is having a 8 course vegetarian meal yet the food took a long time to arrive which is unusual for a chinese restaurant.

My vegetarian friend was so hungry, that she had to break her fast and took a piece of chicken from our non-vegetarian meal.

You service is so slow you turn my vegetarian friend into a non vegetarian 🙄

Food is just so-so. Their sesame chicken could have paired with a special sauce otherwise it’s too dry.

The prawn is not fresh it has fridge taste 😑 all of us tasted the fridge taste.

You should also train your staff to pour tea faster the moment one finishes their tea your staff should pour immediately without making the customers wait for the tea.

Same goes to the food. On normal practice when the food came, once the customers finished one meal, the next meal should be ready to serve. But we had to wait for quite a while. One hour passed and only 3 meals was served.
