I am writing to express my profound disappointment following a three-night stay at Le Méridien Putrajaya from August 26th to 29th. While the hotel's location, integrated into a large shopping mall, was exceptionally convenient, the overall experience was far from the five-star standard advertised.
From the first night, issues began: hot water in the bath was intermittent, making a simple soak a lengthy, frustrating wait. On my second day, after returning from meetings at 4 p.m., my room's air conditioning was blowing hot air, rendering the room uncomfortably warm. The front desk confirmed similar issues in other rooms. My comfort was significantly compromised as I endured over an hour in sweltering heat, sweating profusely, before I had to leave for an evening event.
The communication from staff regarding these issues was alarmingly poor. I repeatedly received calls about the AC, despite having already briefed various personnel. This lack of internal communication led to frustrating, repetitive conversations where I felt like I was constantly retelling my story.
Later that same evening, returning to the room before 10 p.m., there was no hot water. This led to two male technicians being in my room for nearly an hour late at night, a deeply uncomfortable situation for a female guest alone. Despite their efforts, the issues were not clearly explained or swiftly resolved, and another technician even knocked on my door around 11:30 p.m. to ask if the problem was fixed.
An apologetic letter, purportedly from Front Office Manager Freda Chua, offered a dinner buffet as compensation. This was inadequate and poorly considered, given my solo travel and prior dining at the hotel. Attempts to meet true management were met with repeated unavailability or vague responses.
On my final afternoon, I encountered Assistant Front Office Manager Mr. Abdul Maqfirah Rozi, who, despite his senior role, claimed complete ignorance of my three-day ordeal. When pressed, he unprofessionally raised his voice, demanding I explain everything from scratch. This utter lack of awareness, empathy, and service professionalism from an acting manager was the final insult, leaving me feeling disrespected and completely failed by hotel leadership.
Despite minor gestures like fruit or vague compensation offers, nothing could rectify the repeated disruptions, lack of privacy, and disrespectful treatment. My check-out was equally frustrating, with shuttle service requests unresolved.
This stay was an unacceptable failure for a five-star establishment. The hotel’s inability to maintain basic amenities, coupled with incompetent internal communication and management, created an experience of extreme dissatisfaction that I will...

It was an understatement to say that Le Meridien Putrajaya messed up my stay.
I stayed here for a night for flight layover because the hotels near KLIA (e.g. Sama-sama was fully booked months in advance).
Location wasnt great (40mins - 1hr journery from KLIA depending on road condition). Nothing around except for IOI mall which is linked directly.
Arrived hotel at 745pm after a 13 hours flight, was told that room is not available due to late check out from previous customer. Options given were to go to other hotels or wait (with free access to executive lounge during that time period).
First option was unacceptable because of the hassle and since I was famished but not feeling for lounge food, I agreed to wait and went to the mall. The receptionist promised to call once room is ready. Understand the situation is unavoidable but was a bit disappointed with the option laid out. I agreed to wait as I was mentally exhausted to argue.
After a quick meal, I wandered around while waiting for the call. Around 915pm, I decided to head back to check. It was another receptionist on duty which clearly don't know what happened and did not give any response when I explained my situation. She requested for my IC and handed me my room key. Zero communication and no sense of apolegetic. Not to mention the room was ready but I wasnt informed.
Room readiness was sub-par (have random things placed under the blanket). Hygiene was questionable, grossed out when I tried to make coffee the next day (refer pic).
The check-in experience was not pleasant, but I was simply too tired to feel or to demand for compensation. If this were to happen in other premise, it would be compensated with room upgrade, complimentary access to lounge (not just during waiting period only), or vouchers etc.
What upset me was a letter that I received around midnight - it was an apology email which mentioned compensation of late check out up to 3pm. What baffled me was how lack of sincerity. The printed letter was not well formatted and printed (refer pic). And the fact that I am just here for a layover, late check out is pointless.
Breakfast buffet option was full of variety and above average. A little bit of unpleasant experience nonetheless. I was dining alone and had indicated that the table is occupied. I got coffee on my table and when I went to grab some food, the table was cleared. I would have laughed it off but as I hadn't be sleeping the whole night due to jetlag and needed coffee to stay awake for work, it was not the best...

Location : Unbeatable location just on top of the IOI Mall. Since my agenda for the evening is to celebrate a birthday gathering in the mall, the location is ever more convenient for me. It has a direct connection to the mall itself.
Lobby : Spacious lobby and spotless. As I exit the parking lift, I was greeted by 2 guys asking me if I need any assistance. I love the neat arrangement of the chairs and also the concierge services. Check in was easy and smooth. 5 minutes and I am already checked in and equipped with a key card to my room. The only downside is, the FOA did not inform me about the location for breakfast. The next day, I had to revisit the FOA to ask for the location.
Room : The room is spacious. The bed is comfortable and very soft. I love the pillows. AC works well. I love the view from above. Just that the room is not equipped with an iron (which is easily solved of course). The arrangement of the study table is good and there are ample plugs for all my devices. Inside the room, I cant hear anything thats happening outside or on the road below. I believe the noise is super minimal and sound proofing is great. All in all, the room is not just picture perfect, it is real perfect.
Amenities : All amenities are complete. I love the complimentary mini bar thats all-you-can-consume type.
Breakfast : This is the best part. I love how separate everything is giving it an easy way for me to walk around and not feeling overly crowded. There are a little bit of everything. Malaysian taste starting with Roti Canai and Nasi Impit are real winners for me. Nasi Lemak sambal is very sweet taste. Dim Sum and noodle variety are good. The Japanese section is great. The staffs manning the breakfast are superb. All of them are super kind and super attentive to guests. They are ready to clean and serve all the time. They are the very assets of the FNB outlets for sure.
Pool : We did not try the pool as it was raining on the 20th September. But it looks inviting. I love the play area around the pool. I enjoyed it a lot.
Overall : I like the atmosphere of the hotel. Since all staffs are super attentive, I cannot just pinpoint of a single staff that elevates my stay experience because all of them (FO and FNB) are superb. I feel that their warmth are a really great pull to coming back. There are already talks between us, that we will stay again in LM Putrajaya for another friend birthday occasion next month. I am hoping to receive the same warmth experience.
Satisfaction : 100%. I will highly recommend this place to anyone...
