I have to be honest with this. I give one star rating just only on the food. The environment and staff service is 4 out of 5 star. We choose to sit out side and is quite nice decoration. Staff response is quick (other than the shouting among staffs) even is full house. Okay back to the food. The portion is very filling and big enough to make us full but not satisfy 😂
First the Pho, soup is not tasty and just salty, beef slice is torn and very hard to chew. The beef slice is cut randomly into big and small chunk and cook in the soup for too long making the beef very plastic. IMHO, pho soup should be clear as Uncle Roger say and beef slice should just cook over pouring hot soup. I add on RM5 for extra beef, but from what I see, maybe is another pinch of meat. And the vegetable and leaf in the soup is just so random. I think they could put more effort on the meal presentation instead of just what I get in the photo.
Next is the Ching bo Leung drink I order. It does come with a lot of ingredients. However the downside is that the ice is just too big chunk and very hard to get the nuts and barley at the bottom. Vietnamese usually use thinner or smaller ice shards on top of the drink. So let's put the ice aside, let go the ingredients in this drink. The barley is just disappointing😞😕. Basically is a chunk of barley and soggy.
Maybe my luck is bad but would give this restaurant or another branch a...
Read moreSecond review after six month since we last visited. Today we brought reinforcement in the form of my daughter😂😂😂. Since she is a picky eater we let her do the honors of ordering. Much to our surprise, we were truly impressed with todays’ choice. Now the Vietnamese Coffee is a definite choice with what ever you choose. Today we started off with their favourite Bahn Mi ( the popular one is of course with pork). We added grilled squid (a must), two flavours of scallops which include cheese and original, followed by the shrimp filled fresh spring role, grilled quail and not to mention the pork skewers and lastly pork neck . Today we totally enjoyed the food and was most a pleased with the final bill. We are definitely coming back.
First Review. Like Mimi Nguyen Cafe, Banh Mi Cafe too have three other outlet. After tasting their food especially the banh mi ( long bread with stuffing ), I totally endorse the choice of name. Their bread are much softer and the choice of meet and sauce complimented each other making this juicy, tasty and flavorful (suiting our pallets). The mussels, scallops and prawn spring rolls was excellent and with the side sauce it super good 👍. The deep fried quail is the only dish we didn’t like cause of its hard texture ( I suspect it’s very old laying quails). My teeth almost fell off. The bbq squid however is definitely one of the best we tasted so far...
Read moreEdited and added on reply to owner :so why there isn’t any lime and chili served with our meal after we took extra chili and lime from the self service bar? And why all your staff came and look at our table one by one with a black face? It’s not only the cashier guy. That’s like the worst experience I ever had. Like we couldn’t even afford the chili and lime. If you tell us it’ll be chargeable we can pay for it. But you guys put it at the self service area and when we just took few pieces all of your staff came looking at our table and did not serve us with the chili and lime with our meal. Just stop giving excuses to make yourself look “good”. It’s very obvious what you guys are thinking.
Extremely bad service and they’re very petty with their self service lime and chilli. Especially the guy cashier. Saw us taking lime and chili at the refillable area then asked other staff to check our table as if we are some thief that steal whole tree of lime / chilli. Then our food came without the chilli and lime. Worst service ever. If you can’t even give your customer less than 3 piece of lime then just shut down your restaurant or else don’t even place the lime or chilli there for...
