High Tide Restaurant — Restaurant in Malé

Been here multiple times and food is not as hyped as the comments for me.

Dishes are overpriced and consistency not there, as i order same dishes on different occasions. the sushi platters costing north of 300 something MVR are just mushy balls with little to no sauce. if you are charging that much, at least have the courtesy to make it taste good if the quantity of sushi varieties are this less. and the sauce provided with the platter is just 1 tea spoon with if i were to be sarcastic.

shushi zou place in male' or oishi has better quality of sushi that this overpriced platter. salads also do not taste great.

the menu folders are so complicated. the heaviest one folder is the complete menu, lighter ones are some of the parts of the main menu and then a beverage menu. i knew of this after going there a few times as i realised i missed out on the whole menu cause its so stupid.

the servers are very friendly, nice, hospitable and cater to the needs very well....

This is my third time here and the food just kept getting better. Started with an appetizer. The white fish and salmon ceviche. The dish itself doesn't look very appetizing because of the liquid. At first glance, it looked like it was from the salmon. If the waiter can explain what it is, it will be very helpful. But the taste was phenomenal. I can't wait to try it again. For the very first time, I found proper sushi rolls and nigiri from Hulhumale' and Male'. If the soya sauce can brought separately, it will be great. It is not easy to dip the nigiri inside space in the bento box. I wasn't accepting the miso, but it was good. A proper soup spooon for the miso soup will be very helpful. The service is great. I have held this establishment at the top nor at least close to the top of my list of fine dining establishments. I have come here numerous times over the past year and I'm happy to inform that it has held its ground right where i put it and i am quite proud of that, having recommended this place to many a friends and family. I recommend the Bento Box as it offers' a wide variety of food and it offers' a lot of freedom in the combination of food you get to enjoy. I personally go for the Japanese style Bento with medium rare beef as I enjoy my take of Surf & Turf every once in a while.
