Reef House Maldives — Hotel in Malé

If you are transiting in Male, and need somewhere to stay - I would recommend no other place than the 🦈🐠Reef House Maldives🐠🦈 in Hulhumale. Irufan is the most amiable, friendly, and hospitable host I've met in a long time. You can book an airport transfer with him for USD13. He has a car big enough for 4 people and baggage, or one person with a bicycle box (as I had). The guest house is situated in Hulhumale which is more peaceful and calm than Male (bustling city) with a beachfront in the east. The rooms were clean, complete of necessary amenities, and pre air conditioned (!? So nice). Irufan helped me book a snorkelling adventure the next day late at night (ask him for activity options, he knows good tour operators) which was affordable and super fun. He also allowed me to keep my bag in the lobby while I went snorkelling. The beach is a 3 minute walk - so it doesn't matter that this hotel doesn't have a good view. The Wifi is impeccable. If you are looking for a hotel in Hulhumale and this review hasn't convinced you, what are you waiting for? 👌Only excellent experiences await at Reef House...

🤮The WORST accommodation in my entire life🤮

Pickup service didn’t show at the airport exit till I called them. The room itself sucked too. Too much mold and rusty facilities of furnitures and bathroom. Even linens and towels smelled bad. Ants were every around the corners and they didn’t close the window so that we should catch several mosquitos. Shower was broken. Only a little water came out and everytime i use it, it sounded really creepy. There is literally NO STAFF in the house. You couldn’t communicate with anyone with this situations I already paid for pick-up and drop-off service which was double priced compared to a taxi. And THEY DIDN’T SHOW UP in the morning!!! Can you imagine? No one answered the phone and i had to struggle to find a taxi without internet.

TRUST NO ONE HERE IN THIS ACCOMMODATION.

Don’t bring second thought to take decision. The place is as superb as you can imagine looking at the pictures and the owner and his family are just fantabulous I have never seen such hospitality in my earlier tours to other places. For family purpose or kids purpose Kitchen is very well setup with all amenities needed that you dont need to carry anything with you. It’s hygienic place in good locality, beach at walking distance, bus stand is very near on the same street. Taxi hiring is also not a problem at all. We also faced problem at airport during PCR Test and owner Irufan and his wife helped us immensely. Really commendable help they did as we were leaving Maldives and left the house too. Without owner’s help we could be in trouble in last days of our stay. Thanks a lot Adam, Irufan and family!! Hope to meet you guys again 😊😊
