I attended FHAM 2025 (Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge & Exhibition) at Central Park, Hulhumalé recently, and overall it was a valuable event with great potential. FHAM is a major gathering in the food and hospitality industry, bringing together local and international exhibitors, chefs, industry suppliers, and hospitality professionals.
What worked well: • The location is excellent, Central Park is easy to reach and in a good setting for a large-scale event. • Exhibits and stalls were varied and interesting, with many new products and many industry participants. FHAM is clearly doing well in bringing together stakeholders and showcasing innovation. • The organization in many respects was good: layout, program schedule, the variety of competitions (culinary challenge, mocktails, etc.) were compelling.
What didn’t work: • Air conditioning in the venue was really poor. The hall felt more like a furnace than a climate-controlled conference / exhibition space. It was uncomfortably hot, which made the experience more tiring than it should have been. • Given the scale and prestige of FHAM, it’s a shame the organizers did not ensure better cooling. When events draw large crowds and exhibitors, environmental comfort is a key part of overall experience.
Conclusion / Suggestion:
Because of the heat issue, I can’t give a full five stars, but the event was still worth attending for its content, networking, and scope. For next time, I urge management to run thorough quality checks of the venue’s cooling systems, ensure AC is functioning well ahead of opening, and possibly have backup cooling plans. With those improvements, future editions of FHAM could be...
