1 star is for all the drinks we ordered. Drinks here are very good.
Food. It took almost an hour for the food to arrive. Took 5 dishes. The seafood platter was very a very small portion compared to the price. If i can give an example, red snapper offers seafood mixed platter at a cheaper price with a larger portion size. Pasta, the most basic thing to make and test the chefs skill, tasted straight out of a bottle. Maldivian mothers make better tasking pasta for Friday lunch. Lobster roll was just store bought mayo dumped into a bun with 1-2 bits of lobster meat. It tastes really bad. Interval food you buy from stores are better. Fish n chips, fries were not salted and tasted bland. Everyone at the table agreed that the fried fish was the best tasting piece of food we ordered. Creamy swiss bake tasted very generic and not good.
The plates are huge but the food is small in portion. Not even fine dining does this. Huge disappointment.
Service. Service is not that good for a place like this. Servers didn’t know the items on the menu, we had to explain what came along with the platter and all the details. They were more confused than us. Showed that the opening was done in a hurry with little preparation. Also, when we ask the server to give us some time before ordering they just stand right beside the table, noticed that this was practiced by other servers so management must have instructed them to do this which is very odd.
Sure atmosphere is good but for the price you pay(huge price points), its not worth it. If the food tasted good, would have returned for a special occasion. But sadly a special occasion would be ruined by the food that doesn’t taste good. Only positive thing I would end this review with is the drinks, compared to other competitors, drinks are at a good price and actually taste better.
Update: went for drinks only. The watermelon tasted like coffee. Pretty easy to say don’t have proper standards when using blender for...
Read moreWanted to celebrate Valentines Day with the girls and called Nami-Riveli for a reservation as two of us had not yet been there and were excited to try it out. Upon calling we were informed they were only doing walk-ins however once we arrived we couldnt access the top floor of Nami as they were only seating guests with reservations, confused we headed to riveli. We chose a table that had not yet been cleared for the view and were ingored for a long time the waitress took a long time to clear & wipe the table (we had to request) and even longer time to bring the menus. At first she brought the drinks menu only. We had requested faster service atleast during the ordering process as i had a boat to catch. The food took a very long time to come and was not even hot when we were served. We requested my meal to be prepared for takeaway and without checking were informed there were no takeaway boxes available which proved to be untrue as shortly after i left the food from the table next to ours was prepared for takeaway. Overall great atmosphere and terrible service we left very...
Read moreI regret to say that my recent experience at RIVELI for iftar was extremely disappointing. Despite having made a confirmation payment, the seating arrangement was chaotic and disorganized. Two hours before iftar, I received a last-minute message asking to reschedule, which caused unnecessary stress. Upon insistence, we were finally accommodated but were met with further disappointment.
The buffet lacked many items listed on the menu, leaving us feeling misled and unsatisfied. The absence of a floor manager only exacerbated the situation, as there was no one to address our concerns or oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Furthermore, basic amenities such as plates were not readily available, and we had to repeatedly request them. When inquiring about specific menu items, we were informed that they were not available, despite being listed as part of the iftar offerings.
Overall, the experience was marred by poor organization, false advertising, and subpar service. I would not recommend RIVELI for iftar or any other...
