The place was a really bad decision for our 16 hour stop over in Male. The reception people we really not trained or are completely incompetent looks like. To begin with we had informed them of our flight time and arrival at Male and had requested for a paid pick up as it would be very late in the evening (11:30PM) . However we had nobody for pick up even after getting a confirmation by facebook chat. We then managed to take a taxi and reached the hotel. At first they said there are no rooms available. Then when we insisted, they offered to put us up in another guest house. We then told them that's not acceptable they made us wait for 30 mins and cleaned another room and allocated it to us. It was not the room we had booked and paid more for but still better than no room. We didn't get one apology or sorry during the entire process and finally were able to get to bed at 1:00 am... Next day morning the breakfast also was delayed and was just not good at all. Finally we asked for booking a cab at 9:05 am clearly telling the staff to help with a cab by 9:25 am. They promised it will be arrnaged and we expected them to do this atleast after putting us through all the trouble the previous night. We came down and realised that not only they had again forgotten (not surprising) but were not even trying to get one. Finally one of the staffer just went to the main road and we walked with him and managed to get a cab.

On the first night, as soon as we got into the room, I noticed that the pillowcases were not fresh and had a bad smell. ||My husband asked for a refund because we wanted to leave—this was completely unacceptable. When you pay for a room, clean linens should be a given. The front desk refused, saying they couldn’t process a refund because we paid by card. This didn’t make sense, but we were too exhausted after a long flight to argue. Instead, my husband asked them to change all the bedding. ||We waited around 20–30 minutes because there was no housekeeping staff available. The receptionist was rude and didn’t even apologize when I reminded her to change the bedsheets and duvet cover. I’ve worked in luxury hotels, and the service here didn’t even meet basic hospitality standards. ||Once they finally changed the linens, I checked the pillowcases again, and they smelled fresh—confirming that they hadn’t been changed before we checked in. ||I just want to advise other travelers: IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO STAY HERE, CHECK THE LINENS AS SOON AS YOU...

I paid in advance for my booking one week before the arrival date and the manager even confirmed the payment on WhatsApp. But when we arrived, the staff claimed my booking was cancelled, sold our room to another guest, and said they hadn’t received any payment. Even after showing them proof, they kept refusing until I repeatedly called the manager. Finally, they admitted the mistake but gave us a cheaper, lower-category room instead of what we had booked.
Although they refunded the difference, the reception humiliated us again at checkout by asking for that refund back, calling it a “cash advance.” Only after insisting they call the manager or one of staff member did they finally let us go.
The staff were unfriendly and unprofessional, communication was terrible, and the breakfast was awful—one of my family members was even served a rotten-tasting fried egg.
