Yellowfin Dine-in — Restaurant in Malé

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of six for iftar. Despite paying in full and making a reservation, we were disappointed to find that there were no tables available upon arrival. The chef seemed to blame another staff member for the oversight and did not offer any immediate solutions, even as it approached the time to break our fast.

After some time had passed, tables were arranged for us, but they were only set up in pairs instead of accommodating our entire group. We had to rearrange them ourselves, and it was some time before a waiter came to assist us.

Overall, our experience was very disappointing. The restaurant seemed to be poorly managed, lacking attention to detail, and the chef did not make any effort to rectify the situation. We were unable to eat and requested a full refund, which was agreed to but not yet received.

My first visit here was enjoyable—the food tasted excellent. However, my second visit turned into a very unpleasant experience.

The restaurant was completely empty, yet the waiter insisted we sit only at the table he assigned. When we requested to move to a different table, he flatly refused. None of the tables were marked “reserved,” but it felt like we had no right to choose where to sit.

This kind of unfriendly and disrespectful service makes customers feel powerless. Dining should be about comfort and choice, not about being dictated by staff. We immediately lost the mood and left the restaurant.

Placed an order 2hrs prior for 13 people. We had to wait 1 hour after going there till they served us. We even called and checked if the food were ready before going. They said in 5 minutes all will be done. Most probably they started cooking after we had gone there bcs nothing was ready. We had an office team lunch. Due to that so much time was wasted.

About the food; Grilled chicken was dry but the flavors were good. I had the “Angry Pasta” which tasted great. Would highly recommend if you’re a pasta person. Beef steak wasn’t flavorful at all. It was too bland. The yellowfin rice beef was okay while the yellowfin rice tuna wasn’t good. The tuna in it tasted as if it was garudhiya mas. Burgers and noodles were good.
