Season Holidays — Hotel in Malé

We were booked in this hotel by Holiday Factory agency as a last minute choice because the initial hotel we were going to was fully booked and we stayed here for 4 nights and I can say that their service was amazing. The customer service here was way better than the 5 star resort hotels I’ve been to in the past. They transferred us from the airport to hotel, welcome drinks and warm cloth towels given at the reception. The room was small but for the price, it’s ok if you’re 2 persons only. It was clean, bath essentials provided, water refillable if you ask, sheets were clean and air conditioner functioning well. The shower heater not quite functioning but it’s ok as long as the bathroom is clean and with toilet paper I’m okay. No noises from another room were heard, it’s quite peaceful even for a busy month. Each floor has a balcony facing the beach. The breakfast was ample and generous, food was good and brewed coffee available. While eating, you’ll get the view of the beach which was mesmerising. 10 steps away, you’re in front of the beach water. The staff from the reception are all nice, Mr Bruce, Akash, Sam, Taleb and other staff I forgot to ask their names. They were all helpful and accommodating. They will guide you where to buy affordable souvenirs and restaurants to go. You can tell they are doing their best to make the guests feel at home. The whole neighbourhood of this hotel is so charming. The whole street has cozy restaurants and cafes, and at the back we saw souvenir shops, fruit shops, barbecue houses, currency exchange. A totally safe place even to take walk until midnight. The hotel has no lift just in case this is a concern. The hotel is just by the beach, and the view from the rooms facing the beach is just amazing. Breakfast is complementary, and they provide airport pick and drop. Mr Francis at the hotel was kind enough to help us through the booking, and guide us during our stay.

Pros: Beach view is amazing (from the rooms facing the beach). The beach next to which this hotel is located is very clean, and has quite a few water sports opportunities. Budget hotel, so prices are decent Airport pick and drop. This is quite helpful for people visiting maldives for the first time. Complementary breakfast Helpful staff. They are very approachable, and always ready to help. Ample number of restaurants around. Shoutout to Bombay Darbar, and Giardino Marinate for amazing food.

Cons: Toilets didn't have enough water pressure. So bathing wasn't a great experience. Hot water was not there in some of the rooms. To be clear every room has hot water geysers but these geysers have a feature called ELB detect. This detects leakage current. They have a button for checking ELB. If you press it, if there is no issue with electricity nothing will happen, otherwise an internal MCB will trip (you will then have to press reset ELB). Pressing "Test ELB" button in both my rooms tripped the geysers. Fortunately the weather wasn't that cold so we managed without them. They don't have in-house laundry so it takes almost 24 hours for the clothes to come back. Some towels weren't clean. This wasn't a one off thing. For the 4 days we were there, everyday we had at least 1 towel which either smelled bad or had some marks on it. To be clear it is not that they gave us used towels, it is just that the cleaning...

We booked 2 rooms for 6adults and 3 Children for 1 night only. We informed prior to hotel incharge that we have more luggage so a bigger car has to be planned. Once we reached airport the receiver informed that only one car of seasons holidays is arranged and the other car has to be hired, fare of which will be bared by hotel. They arranged 2 small cars and asked us to pay while getting inside the car. Once we reached hotel they said it won't be refunded. But when I insisted that it is their reponsibility they agreed that before we vacate they will sort it out. But when we were vacating the person in reception said there is no cash and asked me to give account details so that they can transfer. I again said it is not the right practise to break the commitment , immeditely they called someone and said it won't be refunded and if we delay further they will unload our luggage and the hired taxi will leave as the taxi was asking . At Last with no other option we left the hotel with out taking the money. The total cost is not even 12USD. Point is they were not committed to what they agreed. Which is really a big black mark on them.

Positive: Located in prime area. Welcome formalities impressive. Breakfast was very good. Staffs behaved nicely. Terrace has a table and chair which is a relaxation spot. Near to Bombay Darbar restaurant where food is really super.

Negative: Rooms are very small. No air circulation. Not recommended if you are 3 in numbers. Toiletries were not at it's best. AC not...
