Tribelli-Valletta Waterfront On our recent visit to the Port of Valletta, we were craving Maltese food. We came across an intriguing-looking spot, Tribelli, whose menu fit the bill. This tasty menu features many of our favorites, such as Aljotta, a traditional Maltese fish soup, Gozitan fresh cheese ravioli, Fwied tal-fenek mogli, fried rabbit liver, and many more. We started with fried, stuffed ravioli and an interesting item: fried vermicelli, which was then baked with fresh Parmesan cheese. The vermicelli came out looking like a cross between a pizza and a pie. (See picture.) It was fantastic! The meat pie attracted both of our appetites as the entree. When the server brought out the steaming pies, we were a bit taken aback. They did not look like a traditional English meat pie but more like a lasagna. With one bite, those thoughts disappeared. The meat combination of corned beef and ground beef with peas, potatoes, onions, and tomato was heaven to our taste buds. We would also suggest splitting this enormous serving. It can easily satisfy two healthy appetites after starters. We look forward to returning to trying more of this delicious menu. I personally cannot wait to have the Aljotta fish soup. I can only imagine how tasty that will be. They also have rib-eye, grilled swordfish, pork chops, grilled chicken, pasta, and their specialty, fried rabbit stew. They are known in the area for their incredible pizzas as well. If you want traditional food and a special treat while visiting Malta’s port or taking a day trip to Valletta, treat yourself to this authentic Maltese restaurant with a...

Read moreService took ages, waiting 1 hour between starter and main course is not acceptable. I ordered a tagliata to be served rare - the first time I got it it was medium to well done, I sent it back and the second time it came back medium (no red whatsoever), and served as a steak not sliced as a tagliata should be served. Meat was tough, with burnt inedible parts at the edges - €25 euro for the meat alone, down the drain. What’s worse, when I sent the meat back they did not take the fries and vegetables so by the time the meat came back I had to eat the sides cold. A chef that cannot cook a piece of meat is no chef at all. Pasta portions were small and not as described (one plate was supposed to have pistachio pesto and didn’t, another plate was supposed to be garganelli and instead was penne). We complained to the staff, who used being ‘busy’ as an excuse (the inside area was entirely empty lol). The place is loud, with many tables squashed under a permanent roofed outdoor area. A table of 8 people, and nobody was satisfied with their experience. Disaster,...
