To be honest the worts experience I had so far in Malta. The service was super slow and everything took a long time. We ask for some drinks, food and bread. Drinks were good. The bread did not come, so I ask the waiter again as we wanted the bread before the meal. The answer was a very quick "bread is coming", but it only came a while after with the food. The bread was hard with ants inside. After complaining new basquet is bread was brought and they try to justify the incident by saying "It weren't ants, it were other kind of insects", as this would make it better xD. The calamari friti, were just a mess out dough with almost no calamari. The pizza was good but average. No complains there. After almost 20 minutes with empty plates trying to call the waiters I was for the desert menu. Another 20 minutes past when they came with the deserts to which I told them that we did not want it anymore and we wanted just the bill. After having to ask another 2 times for the bill, we were informed that since we towanted to pay with card, we needed to pay inside.
Hope this was just a bad night of service for them, but personally I do not plan to visit them again for food.
Note: the system with buttons to call the waiters that the tables have does not work. At least I tried multiple times and no one came...
Read moreCame here one October evening when place was quiet. Started with one of the large range of cocktails each whilst deciding what to have. Menu was a selection of pasta and pizza with a few meat and seafood dishes and burgers etc. I had Calamari to start, huge portion and nicely cooked some may have wanted the batter crisper but fine for me. Other half had a tomato and buffalo cheese salad which also good. Served complimentary bread which was warm with oils and butter too which was a nice addition. For mains I had a local dish on recommendation of waiter which was Maltese Rabbit. Nicely cooked and flavoursome. Other half had stuffed pasta pillows with chicken and pancetta. Also nice and they offered to get more cheese if desired. All in all great meal. The view was partially blocked by a kind of plastic tent like screen which was see through but there had been thunderstorms and forecasted rain so dont blame them. Imagine it would have been good looking over harbour on a warm summers evening. Only negative was that the ladies loo had run out of soap and dryers not working. staff attentive and gave advice in place we were planning to...
Read moreStopped at this restaurant with its lovely location by Valletta port last night. We had the garlic bruschetta for E4.50 - one portion generous for 2 as a starter. I had the penne all'arrabiata (excuse spelling!) which was deliciously spicy and flavoursome. Parmesan cheese was offered and freshly grated for me. OH had the vegan curry (not on main menu, but on a separate vegan menu by request). It looked amazing - a very generous portion of creamy vegetable curry, rice, naan, chips and a large portion of additional vegetables (roasted or sauteed I think). He said it was superb, although so much he left a lot of veg and rice.We were the only customers, excluding one very polite cat who stopped by to gaze meaningfully at us for a few minutes, but didn't pester. The service was excellent, as you would hope being as we were the only ones there. Great meal, would...
