Lumière Restaurant — Restaurant in Mdina

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant which I was shocked as it at good reviews. My husband ordered the beef tagliata medium rare, but it arrived extremely rare — almost raw. We asked for it to be cooked a little more, but when it came back, it looked exactly the same. My dish was okay, but nothing memorable. For €30+ per main, you think the food should be cooked to perfection.

At that point my husband was so put off by it, he didn’t even want to eat it. When we brought up the issue, the waiter said he needed to ask his manager about removing it from the bill, which was already frustrating — it felt like no one had any authority to handle basic issues. We then had to wait around 20 minutes because the manager was on the phone the entire time.

Eventually, they agreed to remove the item (which my husband didn’t eat at all), but by that point, the experience had already been soured.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lumiere Restaurant , and I must say, it was an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment I stepped through the door.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy yet elegant, with dimmed lighting and soft music playing in the background. It created the perfect atmosphere for a delightful evening.

The menu at Lumiere Restaurant is a masterpiece in itself, offering a diverse range of dishes to cater to all tastes. After much deliberation, I opted for their signature Vegetarian dish, Smoked Aubergine , and I was not disappointed.

The presentation alone was a work of art, and the first bite transported me to a world of flavors I had never experienced before. The combination of ingredients was perfectly balanced, and the attention to detail in every aspect of the dish...

Wow! My friend & I stumbled upon this little jewel boutique hotel, whilst on holiday in Malta visiting Mdina. The staff are amazing, polite & smiley nothing was too much, 1st class service. The owner Omar was delightful & kind enough to personally show us around this beautiful hotel. The rooms were exquisite & incredibly tastefully decorated no expense spared & would be perfectly suited for an intimate romantic get-away or honeymoon. We had cocktails on the roof top terrace. The views are incredible. Although we did not eat there this time, the signature cakes looked absolutely stunning as did the cream teas. We would love to return.
