A nice tiny café located in a narrow street of Valletta. It was nicely decorated and they had good music. The food was nice and tasty.
Unfortunately, the service could have been better. Before I sat down, the waitress was already at my table (quick, which is not necessarily bad). I said that I would be reading the menu first, to see what this cafe had to offer. The waitress roamed around a bit, then I ordered a tea and asked her whether I could get milk with it. She came back with tea, but no milk. That's okay, mistakes happen. I asked her again if I could get some milk, she said okay and went back inside. It took a little while for her to come back outside again, but when she did she just sat at a table scrolling on her phone. I looked at her confused and she got back inside to get the milk (served in a lovely little milk churn). I was still looking at the menu to decide what to order, at this time the waitress impatiently sat at the table next to me looking at me (which I thought was a bit strange).
I finished my sandwich and the waitress got rid of my plate. I had ordered a water, so I still had something to drink. When I had finished my water, I wanted to get the check. By this time another waiter joined, they were with 2 people. Both the waiter and waitress never came to my table, even though it was pretty obvious I wanted to leave. I did make eye contact a couple of times, but they still didn't come. Instead they roamed around a bit and ended up sitting at a table talking to each other. Eventually, I had to interrupt them to ask for the bill.
Don't get me wrong, I still think this is a lovely tiny place and I would actually love to come again. Just please tell your staff to be a bit more attentive though. It's just strange that the waitress is at your table when you haven't even seen the menu, but when you want to leave you have to get the...
Read moreMy friend and I ordered two vegan piadinas. We had a chat with our waiter and asked more than once if they had any milk or eggs in them. The waiter said that they could accommodate our request and make us vegan Piadinas without any problems. Both the piadinas came with animal cheese in them. Okay, mistakes happen and I'm a vegetarian anyway but my friend is vegan so I went inside to kindly explain the issue. First, the person who served us tried to say it was vegan cheese, and I answered that I knew it was dairy cheese, because I tasted it. Suddenly, the man who did not serve us, said in a very unprofessional and patronising manner that they had no vegan cheese and that I should have told him that I wanted the food to be vegan. I was quite puzzled both by his tone and by the fact that I didn't even know that he existed in the first place when I ordered. I looked at the person who served us hoping for an explanation, given the fact that I was the paying customer getting shouted at for someone else's mistake. The waiter who served us, finally apologised and said it was his bad and that the situation would be rectified. I sat back on my table and I felt rather disrespected by the tone of the person who did not serve me in the first place. For mine and my friend's surprise, he came to our table and started saying the same things again in the same rude manner. He shouted that the piadinas were vegetarian. Again, I said that I specifically ordered vegan ones. For the owner's luck, we are not allergic to dairy or eggs, because both of these allergies can cause anaphylaxis, which is when your airways shut and you choke to death. Regardless of that, please familiarise yourselves with special diet requirements because they are very important, both for personal beliefs, animal and...
Read moreI cannot recommend this place which looks like a tourist trap and sadly it became a one of them… We have ordered 2 aperol spritz together with my girlfriend and waiter didn’t say anything but stood like being high and showed us a like not saying anything… then I bought some sandwiches in another store and waiter said we can’t eat them here even though people around us could eat their sandwiches sitting in another restaurant’s tables… what becomes a real pitty is that as soon as we have paid the waiter took our nearly half full drinks… I have been in 32 countries and I have never seen something like that and what’s the most funny thing is that he asked us if that’s our first time abroad 😂😂😂 No, it’s our first time being scammed and treated like that. Don’t visit this tourist trap place with high and...
