Terrible food. I dont care if you have 40+ years doing this. IT IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD! the beans taste like it came straight out of a can. The Rice taste like cardboard rice, the fajitas had broccoli and mushrooms (where in Mexico does anyone recall having that in their Chicken Fajitas?) The drinks is just ice with pumped flavors (they charge a dollar extra for a flavored Margarita). He hires Mexican employees to make you believe its authentic. I dont care if your employees or chefs are from Mexico, it is disgusting food, I went because it was promoted as delicious and great price, the lies. PLEASE DONT GO THERE. If I can prevent others from going there I would stand infront of that restaurant and tell people its a scam. The tip was put without me saying yes or no to it, you should be responsible to pay your employees better than having your costumers pay them a wage. The owner is overbearing and gets too close to you, its disturbing. I have never written a bad review in my entire life, lets just say this place is worth the time I took to leave this honest review. Your responses are terrible, rather than making sure your costumers respectful reviews go noticed by you, you just say you have been doing it for 40+ years. I will make sure no one ever gets to go to your restaurant. He gave us a "Free" tres leche and lets just say even that was nasty, tasted like wet bread with regular milk and melted disgusting chocolate on top of it. THE BEST THING THERE WAS THE WATER and maybe the Guac if you add salt. I am not a scam based on your reply, I can make sure its known I went there and paid my $113.81 that zelled you. Like I said I will make sure your restaurant is known to be the worst in NYC. Social media is where its starts!

I do a lot of traveling with my job. Sometimes before heading home I get something to eat while letting the rush hour traffic die down. Its during these times that I seem to find the best reraurants and here is another one. I will start with the homemade salsa. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and the salsa seems to always be the same, nothing special. Not here! The salsa and their chips were unbelievable tasty. Turns out it's homemade! I just knew this place had to be a family owned business, which it is! The owners are PK, his wife Bina and their daughter Dinika. Dinika recommended the combo Fajitas with the chicken and steak. Not something I usually order because Im a Taco girl but can you say out of this world? It came with the softest and most flavorable Fajitas I've ever had. Oh and the rice and beans that accompanied this dish... I've never had rice so perfectly cooked and the beans... also homemade...of course. The service was top notch and here are some side notes. I started with a Margarita that was made perfectly. PK came over to me with a friendly hello when I first sat down. His wife and daughter make sure to ask me about my meal. I was able to purchase a container of Salsa to share with my family. The prices were fair and definitely worth every dollar spent. If you look at their menu they explain that they don't use any preservatives or additives, etc. The food is made fresh! The atmosphere is great and last but not least PK has his service dog Stormy who greets the customers with such warmth. I felt as though I was eating at my mom and dad's house because there was just so much love here. I cannot wait to go back!

Tourist trap. Avoid. Food is a C+. Prices are insane, even in the city. $24 for 2 fish tacos. $28 for steak fajitas which turned out to be about 3-4oz of skirt steak on a bed of largely flavorless onions, peppers, and broccoli (?). What steak was there was actually pretty good. Waiter asked if we wanted sour cream, turns out it was $4 for a 2 Tbsp side of it. 4% credit card fee (though proudly advertised) and 20% gratuity automatically included (not so well advertised). Hands down the worst side of beans and rice I’ve ever had. Beans were dumped from a can: grainy and sitting in what I can only call unseasoned bean water. Vegetarian friendliness aside, I cannot fathom bragging that your beans lack animal fat while also claiming to have the best Mexican food. Mind-boggling. I sincerely thought the rice might’ve been Chinese takeout from a truck stop in Montana. Dry, flavorless, with hard carrots. Margarita was watery, weak, and uninteresting. Girlfriend asked for mid-shelf tequila and was served and charged for top shelf. I could almost say the service was good: attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Although the dose of casual, old-school sexism wasn’t as welcome. At the end of our meal the waiter lingered and offered us a free dessert if we gave them a Google review on the spot. I can only imagine this is why they are scraping by with anything above a 3.5, let alone a 4.6. Then proclaimed they had the best Mexican food in the city. Maybe in a small town, half a century ago, and at a third of the price. Maybe.

At first the owner was great and said if we left a review (8 of us), we all would get free shots. We all obliged and the owner was funny and we laughed a lot and the food was amazing. The food portion was small for how much you were paying though. The margaritas however were the best part of the night. But, we had a great time up until the bill came. We all paid for our meals and sent money through venmo, Zelle, card etc. As the owner checked that each one of us paid, we all knew we were fine as we were walking out, he held one of us back and he said the group still owed $80 extra!? We know we didn’t because we all calculated the bill and verified it. Turns out, the “free shots” he gave us for our reviews of his restaurant were not indeed free. He made us pay for them!! When we asked where this extra $80 came from he didn’t answer he just wanted the money. Honestly so messed up. Don’t tell people you are being nice and give them free shots when u just want money and make them pay for it without it being on the bill! Also dogs were running all around the restaurant with their dog treats on the floor as well which was very odd and unprofessional for a restaurant.

In response to your reply to our table in the last review - You took our orders wrong. You brought out 7 of our 9 orders out 1 hour after being seated and asked if everything’s ok while 2 of us had nothing in front of them. They apologized and rushed those 2 orders. One of which was shredded chicken soft shell tacos and it came back as beef hard shell. She did not eat it because it’s not what she ordered. We know what we ordered. You kept making mistakes. At the end, you took them off the bill because we were right. We also order supreme nachos with shredded beef and it came back as ground beef. We had to ask for it to be corrected and they almost didn’t even correct it until later when we complained a second time. Also, our appetizer never came. So they had to take that off the bill too. As to the owner, you weren’t there, we handled this with the manager. So if your staff is telling you we were “making corrections to our order”, they are not being truthful. The customer is always right. Here’s a picture of the hard shell beef tacos that was never ordered from the start.

I loved every moment of our visit here. This is a nice diamond in the rough spot. I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived, but that quickly changed. The owner greeted us and was super attentive and courteous. The restaurant is small and when busy it can get a bit tight. However, typically, other patrons are understandable and helpful with letting others by. The drinks are AMAZING. We opted for the smaller sizes because we wanted to sample different flavors, so we did 3 margaritas each. Let me just say that the margaritas were poured with a heavy hand and were greatly appreciated. I made it home from the restaurant to the Northeast section of the BX and was still feeling my buzz heavily. So, yes, the drinks are worth the hype and price. The food was good and tasty, but I was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes. However, it's important to note that I wasn't still starving after eating, but for the prices, I expected a little more. Overall, my only downfall is that we hadn't visited this place sooner. I for sure know we will definitely be returning soon.
