Churrascaria Do Brasil — Restaurant in Baja California

This was our group's first time at a Brazilian steakhouse, below is our experience.

Hospitality - slight confusion with the host in the beginning but we were quickly showed to our outside patio seats. Servers were friendly and prompt in bringing us napkins and drinks. Limit is 90 minutes.

Drinks - we ordered tamarind and cucumber agua frescas. This was probably the worst tamarind drink I've ever tasted. It has a very overwhelming taste of lemon and does not have the sour hint of tamarind. Cucumber drink was good.

Salad, sides, dessert - didn't bother. Sushi looked and tasted off, rest of the sides resembles Chinese buffet quality. No room for these fillers.

Meat - what we came here for and they were average at best. Octopus overcooked, shrimp was seasoned well, chicken were dried, pork was adequate, and the beef was not memorable at all. I was most looking forward to the tomahawk and the server gave me the thinnest slice of meat known to man. I didn't even get to taste the pink/red meat, it was more like the brown outer char. The guy spent 10 secs trimming it as thin as possible and walked away thinking it was acceptable.

We did not get to try all the meat despite being there for the whole 90 minutes. Not sure if our party was discriminated because some of us were in casual clothes but we always get the scrap of popular beef cuts and never got to try the beef with cheese nor the sizzling steak. Apparently they don't keep track of which tables get what, very disappointed.

This was definitely not a memorable experience, and I will not be back any time soon. You're paying 3x less compared to San Diego, but you're not saving much taken into account the child portion cuts and lower...

Very clean restaurant and the staff were all very nice. With the exception of the playroom attendant, when my son tried to enter she ‘shooed’ him away and physically (but gently) pushed him back behind the door and told him to bring his mom with him. However, the food was very bland and meat offerings were very minimal. The meat is table side offered, all other food is buffet style. The meat was only offered to us 3 times total and they looked nothing like the advertisement pictures. The meat was overcooked, dry and tasteless. Extremely overpriced for what you get and you feel rushed because they take your drink glasses so fast. The biggest disappoint was when the waiter handed us the bill and said it doesn’t include the tip, which is a 15% minimum. Very tacky to verbally suggest a minimum tip. A better way to do it - Tip suggestions should be printed on the bill under the total and signature line , not verbally demanded. If 15% truly is the minimum, add it to the bill automatically with a space for the customer to write in an ‘extra tip’. We still tipped 20% because our servers were very nice, but this needs to be done better. Lastly - the meat is tabled served on skewers or carving boards. The skewer should NEVER touch your plate.
