Well, we believed the reviewers here and on Trip Advisor, and went to Careyes for dinner last night. As non-hotel guests we had to pay before we even entered the restaurant. That’s fine because it is within an all inclusive hotel. We were four of us, and ordered different dishes from the menu to find out what made so many people write such glowing reviews. At the end of the dinner this is what we all agreed to regarding our experience: the kitchen tried too hard on presentation (i.e. nice looking plates) but failed miserably on producing good tasting dishes. Read moreHorrible and completely unprofessional experience trying to book a reservation here for my birthday. We called several days ahead of time to get a reservation and we were informed that they only take same day reservations and to call at 3pm the day of. We called at 2:58pm on August 27th, my birthday, and we were told to arrive in person at 4pm to make a reservation for the evening. We arrived at 4pm and no one was there, and the hotel itself told us that we had to have called before 3pm in order to get a reservation? The hotel staff then notified us that they had already been fully booked for the night and furthermore they don't take reservations for the restaurant from guests not staying at this hotel. No matter how good the food is, being treated like this is not worth it, especially when the system they have in place for eating there is actively hostile towards potential people wanting to give...
