To put it simply, do NOT stay here. The entire place was sickening and dirty.
The first thing we had to do was wait in line for over 45 minutes to check in, no one offered us any drinks or water. Then, we had to wait another hour to get our wristbands and our room, so we decided to explore a bit and get some food and water. That is when we discovered that to get good food, we have stand in line for an hour at 4PM to make a reservation for 7PM dinner. Considering that we were already late to do this line, we decided to go to the buffet...there were two in the whole resort. The food was okay...just okay...pretty basic and bland. The drinks are too sweet and they only serve Dos Equis (XX) beer.
The hallway leading us to the room was dirty, definitely needs painting. Some of the lights were not working and the floor was stained too. Once we got to our room, things just got out of hand. Immediately we wanted to leave the hotel and never look back. Our personal shower had hair...lots of it, on the floor, in the doors...it was disgusting. The chairs were dirty and stained as well, to the point that we refused to sit in them. The bathroom was small, the sink would make a sound if you touched it, and it also had so much rust on it. The phone did not connect to the lobby, so we were unable to call anyone for assistance. Considering that we were pretty tired from the airplane ride, we decided to give it a chance and just take a shower and move on with our day. However, the hotel simply made this impossible. We go to the pool and you can tell it is dirty. You really get a confirmation once you see the staff sweeping dirty water back into the pool, yes....dirty water, full of sand, leaves, etc from the walkway back into the pool. We thought we were crazy, but the leaves stayed there during our entire stay.
Next day, we figured to give the hotel another try and just enjoy ourselves. So, we go to the pool and our opinions did not change. It had a tiny bar, no shade, not enough chairs, dirty water, overcrowded.
The nicest restaurant was then closed for renovations, the other restaurant was also closed for unknown reasons. To be clear, you get two buffets with okay food, two closed restaurants, and two other restaurants which require a dinner reservation for which you must show up at 4PM. However, the reservation line starts at 3PM so your day is focused on making lines so that you are able to eat at a certain time. Great, huh? Forget tours, forget beach...just make the lines.
We talked to the concierge about our experience and she informs us that there is nothing she can do, that it is high season and that is it. She was nice but completely useless. She offered to send someone to clean our room, but we just wanted to stay somewhere else. Mind you, the ceiling behind her was cracked, peeling, and leaking and no one thought, "Hey! let me put a bucket or something so that it does ruin all the equipment"
There is no attention to detail, there is no great food, just a dirty place with closed restaurants.
Mind you, we were not the only ones complaining. There was a lady from Argentina for her honeymoon, and she just could not believe that this is where she was going to spend her honeymoon. She insisted that she paid for better service and nicer accommodations.
Thankfully, we stayed at a different hotel and the experience was completely different. We were thrilled to be at a clean location with friendly staff. Even without the all inclusive, it was a much better experience overall.
TLDR: Overcrowded, dirty, poor maintenance. Buffet ok, restaurant reservations interrupt your day. Only Dos Equis XX beer. Staff friendly but incompetent. -1/10...
Read moreNot a bargain - you might see the price of this hotel and the pictures and think you're getting a bargain. You aren't.
Starting with the check-in, the process is disorganized and the check-in staff are actually rude. My reservation states a 3pm check-in, we we're allowed to check-in until 3:30pm. We were given wristbands to use the pool and eat while waiting, but were turned away from the restaurant because we didn't have a room key.
When we did get our room, it was not what was pictured or stated when I booked Oasis Palm. It was two double beds, not a king, and the bathroom is like a locker room shower. When we got to the restaurant, it was pretty bad food as well. The drinks are also make with low quality mixes.
There are other issues, a like dilapidated children's pool, other rude staff encounters, and long lines for dinner that you can read about in other reviews. But also read the hotel management's responses. It's obvious that they do not care to improve.
But... some people might enjoy this hotel. If you are here with children and want them to run around while you drink bottomless, terrible drinks and feed old hamburgers to the seagulls, this is your spot. My 5-year old had a blast. He may need a tetanus shot now, but he...
Read moreWe checked in for two rooms on July 5th for 3 nights , had to check out the next day. Hotel deserves 0 stars, whole family received food posing , sheets where smelly and dirty, Semen stains on the chair , shower is clogged, staff is rude, place is filthy, requested clean sheets multiples times, at the end we recevied a dirty old blanket. The Buffet is simply discusting. found uncooked chicken with mold. Booked trough expedia, called expedia to cancel the reservation and do a refund,. the hotel ignored emails and phone calls from expedia. The front desk staff was very rude and ignorant to our requests for a refund. We checked out the next day on the 6th with no refund given. i would not suggest anybody to stay in the hotel.. They charged us $2,100+ for two rooms on the second floor for 3 nights, we checked out less than 12 hours after checking in. It is now the 9th and we are still vomiting with diarrhea. At 3 am two drunks where fighting outside our hotel room. We even purchased a $200 upgrade to recevie the blue wrist bends, in order to eat at what is supposed to be the better buffet. This one ended up being filthier than the...
