Vacationing on the Resort located next to Sirenas snack bar & restaurant, we decided to give it a try based on outstanding google reviews!! We had a terrible experience from the start… the waiter was on the phone didn’t acknowledge us and we basically sat ourselves down, we ask for two appetizers (calamari & coconut shrimp) and two alcoholic drinks to start!! Their location is amazing facing the sea with beautiful views of the pirate’s ship boats and a walking pathway with gorgeous vegetation! The portions were actually pretty big but sadly the Calamari was super saturated in oils which became nauseating! The coconut shrimp was crispy and actually pleasantly tasteful! UNFORTUNATELY besides the food, a good experience totally depends on the waitress service provided and that was TERRIBLE to say the least! There was one English speaking waiter and one Spanish speaking BOTH of them with their faces GLUED on their cellphones the whole time we were there… we had to signal them we were done eating and that we wanted the bill so we could leave 😞 however when was time to pay they wanted us to leave a generous tip on the card! Worst customer service ever… no wonder the place had no customers ( that should had been our 1st clue) and the prices stated online are not the current ones on the menu, they were much higher! Would...
Read moreWhile on vacation in Cancun, I was in search of the best octopus in local restaurants. Sirenas' octopus is in my top 2. It has a nice texture and is full of amazing taste. It was so good, that we kept returning to this place just to buy more of it. But the other food items are excellent as well - ceviches, calamari, aguachile, shrimps - are in the list of the ones we tried here.
There are plenty of drinks to choose from. The restaurant is located on the coast, so you can enjoy views of the passing boats. Cards are accepted.
I had to dock a star for 2 reasons. The service totally depends on the waitress - there's one English speaking waitress who is attentive to tables even when the restaurant is full. But also there's another one who just sits in her phone most of the time. The other reason is that there's a ferry station in 10 meters from the restaurant, so you will enjoy your food with diesel fumes coming from boats. If you come after 8 PM (time of the last ferry) it would not be an issue.
Overall, I recommend checking this place, at least for their...
Read moreUnfortunately, this ended up being a meh experience. We didn’t realize that the live music and dancing was happening and ended up paying an extra 100 pesos (which was fine! I just didn’t realize this was a thing). Then, it was obvious the cooking team was short staffed because the food took forever to come out. We ordered appetizers - the fried calamari and chips + guac. The chips were store bought chips, and the guacamole came out after the first main dish already came out. The fried calamari was delicious though, would recommend. I ended up liking my salmon ceviche, but I feel like my group got a mixed experience with what they ordered (which I think she got a fried fish taco). The service was okay, but we couldn’t blame them because it was clear they were so short on staff. The drinks we got (strawberry daiquiri and tequila sunrise) were also alright. However, the menu has been updated and all of the prices are way more expensive (like around 300 pesos) than what you see here on Google Maps. It’s just not...
