El Tigre y El Toro — Restaurant in Cancún

This Italian restaurant is a hidden gem! It is dimly lit, which makes the atmosphere cozy, even though it's mostly outdoors. The food was delicious and the staff members were professional. I had the vegan margarita pizza and vegan empanada. There was one small problem. We had a few servers help us throughout our dinner. There was one waitress who took my order for the vegan empanada, but I was brought a vegetarian one. I didn't notice it until I tasted dairy cheese and extra ingredients that weren't listed in the vegan one. My friend, who is not vegan, confirmed this for me by tasting it herself. They apologized and brought me a vegan empanada; definitely tasted different. I was okay with how the situation was handled. I'm vegan by choice for ethical/moral reasons. I had thought, what if I was lactose-intolerant or allergic to dairy? Mistakes happen, especially with language barriers. Other than that, my friend and I loved our experience here. This overpriced restaurant was extremely disappointing. They advertise themselves as pizza place yet they honestly have no idea how to make pizza. The base is like a crunchy poppadom. There is very little tomato sauce or cheese and then there is an abundance of poor ingredients on top of the apparent pizza. And finally to make matters worse, much worse, is that the food is way too salty. Almost impossible to eat. We couldn’t finish ours.

Additionally, when we went to pay our bill, we received a bill that was double the cost of what he had. Fortunately we read the bill and had the extra things removed. We felt as though they were trying take advantage of us.

Finally, we were not even offered an apology nor any other recompense for the terrible meal. We left with our expectations in tatters and we were still hungry.

Unfortunately, I was there few days ago its food was ok, the services ok but when I tried to pay by card it was a problem because their terminal does not work properly, I tried twice, and it was the same issue. I didn’t want to try a third attempt because it was a big amount for me. So, what happened was, the waitress advised me to transfer them, tbh I will be planning to pay but it is obvious they don’t trust, the manager follow me to try to pay, they treated me like a thief. I was so disappointed. I have to try with an international card which obviously was accepted, I didn’t want to use this card initially because I lose money with exchange rate. If you go to this place pls bring cash because their terminals are useless, and you can be treated as a petty thief which is not...
