My visit to Casasola Café & Brunch in Cabo San Lucas was a disgraceful experience that highlighted not just poor customer service, but outright discrimination against disabled individuals. As a disabled U.S. Navy FMF Corpsman , retired veteran traveling with my fully trained and properly identified service dog, I requested to sit inside due to the extreme outdoor heat — for my comfort, health, and safety. Instead of being met with basic human decency, I was immediately denied entry. The staff falsely claimed that my service dog was not permitted because I was not a disabled Mexican and ignorantly insisted that service dogs only apply to the blind.
Let me be crystal clear: my service dog is not a pet — she is a vital medical companion, trained to assist with specific disabilities, and protected under Mexican law. Whether or not the restaurant has a designated pet area is completely irrelevant. Service animals are not pets, and any attempt to classify them as such reveals both a dangerous lack of education and a serious legal violation. According to Article 58 of the Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor , in México , prohibits denial of service or additional charges for individuals accompanied by service animals. Casasola Café & Brunch chose to operate on discriminatory assumptions rather than comply with the law.
This type of behavior is not just illegal — it is inhumane, disrespectful, and shameful. As a veteran who served in combat, I never imagined being humiliated and turned away for a disability I didn’t choose. The fact that such ignorance is still being tolerated — let alone practiced — in a public-facing business is appalling. Discriminating against someone with a disability is not just poor hospitality — it is a violation of fundamental human rights.
I strongly urge the owners of this establishment to educate themselves and their staff on the legal rights of people with disabilities and the role of service animals. Until then, Casasola Café & Brunch should be avoided by any traveler, veteran, disabled individual, or human being who believes in dignity and lawful treatment. The public deserves to know exactly what kind of business...
Read moreCasaSola is my family's "sure thing" in Cabo. The food is consistently top notch, the staff is friendly, detailed and always on point and it is a clean, quaint environment that we keep returning to. We have been coming to Cabo since 2017 and we always visit CasaSola for the great food and experience. I rarely write reviews but when you are consistently great like they are for years, it is definitely deserved.
Keep in mind that people know that this place is great so there may be a wait and they are closed on Sunday.
We've tried a few items over the years and everything I've tried on the menu has been delicious. From the traditional american breakfast of pancakes, omelets and eggs, bacon and potatoes, to the machaca breakfast, the sandwiches and the smoothies, everything is A+. The only thing that faltered may be the chai and hot chocolate, but those things are just icing on the cake for us.
If you are in a hurry to get in and eat, this you may not be able to especially on the weekend, but they are more than worth the wait. Favorite place in Cabo, dare I...
Read moreThere is a lot that makes this place stand out. This has been the restaurant with the most thorough measures for Covid, controlling the entrance so that not anyone walks on, enforces masks, hand sanitizer station and temperature check and they sanitize the tables and chairs after each use. Now there is a wait, we had to wait 30min and maybe another 5-10min after we came back from a short walk. The restaurant has a mostly American breakfast menu with pretty much everything you would find in the US. There were only a couple of Mexican choices and I got the shedded beef burritos which were good. We also got the special breakfast which comes with four eggs, bacon, salad and fruit. Both were great and large portions. We also had the coco paradise frappe which was awesome and the amor de verano which was great too. Service was excellent. The prices are a bit expensive for Mexico, but I would have payed double if this was in Seattle. They take credit card which...
