Colmena Hotel Los Cabos Marina — Hotel in Ildefonso Green

We stayed at Colmena Marina Cabo during the last week of January. While the hotel has potential, it’s clear that it’s still very much under construction.

Pros:

Great location within walking distance to the marina. The rooms have a modern design and were clean. Free breakfast was a nice touch. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Cons:

The elevator is not yet operational, and there are railings on only one side of the stairs, which feels unsafe. The hot water takes at least 5-10 mins for showering, so we had to keep the water running for a bit before entering the shower Can never get warm water from the bathroom sink The bathroom lacks ventilation which makes the bathroom feel wet and humid The WiFi was slow and unreliable. -Poor craftsmanship in the building—walls and doors have no soundproofing, so you can hear everything, even neighboring guests showering. -No mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. No private parking; only street parking is available for now. Would appreciate extra towels and garbage can

Overall the location and staff were great, but the ongoing construction, lack of basic amenities, and parking issues made the stay less enjoyable. If the hotel can fix the issues mentioned improvements, I think it has the potential to be a good option...

I recently stayed at Colmena Marina Cabo, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Despite booking in good faith based on their advertised amenities, the reality was far from what was promised. Two days before my stay, the hotel informed me that the pool and elevator were unavailable due to construction. What they failed to disclose was that NONE of their amenities were functional—no pool, no gym, nothing. Essentially, the only thing they provided was a room, and even that was subpar.

The noise levels were unbearable, with loud music playing until 4am, making it impossible to sleep even after a night out. It felt like staying in a construction zone rather than a hotel.

To make matters worse, the hotel promised to waive part of the charges due to the issues, but they later charged me the FULL amount. When I tried to resolve this, they deflected responsibility and referred me to their LAWYER rather than addressing the problem.

Cabo has plenty of amazing options, but Colmena Marina Cabo is NOT...

You get what you pay for….

We stayed for 6 days and received a room and beds that worked fine. Prices were cheaper than other nearby resorts and it is in a convenient location.

But this hotel is under construction and not at all ready for guests. Very dishonest of them to continue booking rooms out before they are ready.

The amenities described for the hotel are not available yet (no pool, garden, breakfast, or gym) and a lot of the photos are fake. The evenings are very loud because there is a venue next door with loud music that goes until 2AM. The doors are thin and don’t have personal security latches. We could hear conversations in the next room. The bathroom setup was odd and had no ventilation. Construction work was loud and occurring well...
