The Hotel is exactly as advertised. I wanted an inexpensive vacation in Cabo San Lucas. I have stayed in Cabo many times but always down on the Marina. My budget this trip was just too restrictive for accomodations on the marina that would have been more than double the price. This is an old hotel with the regular construction and maintainance methods that would have any Canadian electrical inspector cringe. Once you come to realization that that is Mexico, then you can get to a point where the hotel can be enjoyed. It is a two floor concrete structure that except for some electrical creativity, is well maintained. The pool is great to sit by but is not heated. The cleanliness is impressive. WiFi is tranmitted throughout the property but can get a bit sketchy in the room but to be expected with solid concrete walls. Staff are constantly sweeping, mopping and wiping. There is an on-site restaurant/bar with a limited but sufficient menu with the food being both well prepared and safe to eat. Staff as with most if not all of Mexico are very friendly and even if they don't understand any English, they will find someone who does. Just know that the property is in the downtown core of Cabo. Though a large selection of restaurants are within a five minute walk so are the "Happy Endings" massage parlors and the so called "Gentle's Clubs". That is beyond the control of the Hotel but just be aware. The marina is a short ten minute walk and souvenir vendors abound. Other posts have mentioned noise and loud music going till the early hours of the morning from neighboring establishments but I honestly didn't experience that. The free parking is on site, gated and locked down 24 hrs. Your car will as safe as it can be. The rooms again are very basic but as with tbe rest of the property, clean and functional. My bed is firm but not a rock. I have finished my thirteen day stay. I feel comfortable in recommending the property to the budget minded traveler who understands that it is not the Ritz and nor...

Read moreVisited Cabo a couple years ago with a group of 7 people. We stayed up stairs and the rooms were fair, but clean and comfortable. One of our friends stayed downstairs in the old part of the hotel and his room was amazing and gorgeous! Beautiful, hand carved furniture, wood beams and paintings on the ceiling, and a patio with table and chairs. I recommend asking for a room downstairs. The staff was very friendly (2 years ago). Maggie was very nice and gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to do. We even ran into her somewhere else and she came up to us and talked to us and was very nice. The location is very Central and around the corner from Cabo Wabo. Down the street was our favorite taco shop, Tacos Gus, and a fruit stand out front where I purchased my breakfast every morning. We stayed here for $30 per night in May. Nice little pool too. Also, felt very safe with the "Govenor"...
