Due to the cartel, wars, kidnapping and other crime Acapulco and Cancun are no longer the top tourists destinations. Tourism never recovered after the US government RED flagged those areas as dangerous travel destinations. Cobo is probably the safest place in Mexico as well now! The city is clean and well kept. It is a really nice little town. There are a lot of Restaurants and bars. You can do a lot of activities during the day. Unfortunatly it is super expensive and americanised. This place has not a lot to do with Mexico . You can‘t find any of the rich mexican culture here. If you want to get to know Mexico you have to go somewhere else. If you just want a good vacation and party you are at the right place. If you go on a whale watching tour here, always make sure to go with a licenced operator. Whale watching is regulated by the mexican government. The whales come to the bay to have children. A lot of the not licenced tour operator chase the whales and disturb them.
