This place is horrible. Decent music. We were offered no happy hour so we had to ask for it ourselves. They only had one happy hour menu that they would take from you when someone else wanted it. We ordered our drinks before a group of 10 even sat down and the group of 10 still got all of there drink order first. We ordered 2 frozen margaritas and the group of 10 had 2 orders of frozen margaritas as well but yet we still got them last. We asked for the check waited 10 minutes, still didn't come. Flagged someone down and asked again. Waiting another 10 minutes. About 25-30 minutes of waiting for our check it never came, they never looked at us or anything. Never came to us and offered food when we planned on ordering. Never interacted with us. It was only 4 tables of people on the patio and there were 5 servers and 1 bartender. We ended up leaving the money on the table and walking out. Absolutely no excuses. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. There are so many better places to get live music, amazing conversations, and...
Read moreI came here twice during my stay on Isla. The first time was just for a quick happy hour margarita and although it was watered down (most of the drinks on Isla seem to be), it was still very good and there was a singer there who had a relax island vibe. We went again for lunch right before leaving and we were disappointed. Our frozen margarotas were good but you couldn't even tell that there was any tequila in them. My shrimp tacos were tasty but my friend’s chorizo and potato tacos were horrible, there was no chorizo in them, just potato and rice. We had to catch our ferry at 1:30 so we couldn't wait for the happy hour special and paid full price. It was very expensive and not great quality compared to other places we ate at during our stay. We were the only patrons there and the service was not great, the waiter was not friendly at all. There was a rock band setting up and they were really loud, we actually had to change tables to sit further away and no one offered to help move our drinks...
Read moreIf bland was a physical place... The food had little seasoning, no hot sauce exists, drinks were weak, and the live band mostly played bad English songs that cater to 60+ folks. This place would be awesome if you're severely drunk and have little to no taste buds. Kid you not, I would much prefer a darn taco bell cantina with radio playing then this. I hate to be this mean but I'm serious and I'm a darn Mexican American. I'm sorry folks, if you wanted bad Mexican food and terrible English songs, just stay home. Funny I practically begged for 1 Spanish song, they played it and everyone was moving and immediately took out their phones to record. Next song? ColdPlay... The song I listen to when it's Monday, raining and I'm on my commute to work... I didn't like anything at all about the place. It's only surviving due to location and how large a space it is, don't be fooled. I'm being extremely honest here. They only take cash, and their exchange rate is horrible...
