The food at this place is authentic and well priced in comparison to some of the tourist traps on the main strip. I am a repeat customer here however had an unpleasant experience during my last visit, with my children. The service was great and we were treated in a warm welcoming manner until the bill arrived. The bill was itemized with the price of each item written next to it, and the total under the bill. However the total of the items did not equal to the total written on the bill. There was a difference of exactly 100 pesos, about 20% of the total bill. When I pointed out this difference, suggesting that perhaps there may be a mistake in the Math done, our server became defensive. He told me that I don't have to pay the difference if I am not happy with the service. I tried to explain to him my disappointment that 1)As a customer it is my right to decide how much of a tip to leave, unless a service charge is specifically stated, which it was not 2)The difference was not the 10% he claimed standard but actually 20% 3) The difference simply appeared on the total without any item explaining where it comes from (eg Tax, Charge, Service Fee...) Unfortunately the response I got back was one of aggression and arrogance. This caused confusion for my children and caused everyone a great embarrassment and ruining an otherwise pleasant experience. I will not be returning to the Loncheria again there are plenty of other places to eat on Isla Mujeres, such as Santo's Tacos in the...

The food is ok, this is why i give 1 star. The SERVICE is BAD! I order cup of water no ice, he bring cold water telling me they don't have tap water asking 20 pessos for 1 bottle. I had a bottle with me. I order fries and a salad. I ask if he had feta: Greek cheese for the fries,,, he said yes is similar...so frirs 50 pessos, salad 40 pessos! Bill came and is 140 pessos!!! I ask why?? He said that she CHARGE me for the cheese! Having in mind that 1 kg of cheese at the store is 20 pessos!!! The most expensive is 45/50 al pound! Here 10 gram cost as MUCH! He said his manager tell him to charge me that MUCH! All the local were embarrassed saing "SHAME"... When someone is so shamelessly greedy and arrogant! I give her 20 pessos! But NO i don't like greedy people! I like to give money to pure ❤ locals! Never AGAIN! I will NOT Reccomend it! Taking advantage of my white skin...pretending not to understand Spanish... UGLY ADETUDE UGLY please! I don't Reccomend IT! Not for the price, but for her (the lady behind the cash mashine)ugly behaviour, and arrogant the server as well. I want to give money to nice kind people... And me and my friend were counting...

Mexican loncherias, much like cenadurias, are small family run restaurants that offer home-style cooked meals in humble settings. Usually , these places offer the tastiest, genuine regional meals at low cost and are a better alternative than fancy restaurants with bland , lifeless menus that cost too much and don't satisfy your taste buds.

The service staff at this particular Loncheria was very attentive but I was a little disappointed with the taste of the food choices.

I ordered a pork pozole hoping to indulge in a delicious version of this tasty pork stew but the pieces of pork were tiny and chewy , while the broth itself lacked flavor.

My dining companion ordered a chicken filet stuffed with ham and cheese and while some would call that dish, Chicken Cordon Bleu , this particular iteration left much to be desired.

Hopefully, as time goes by and the cook receives more feedback from the patrons, the food preparation will be at the same level of quality as the...

So far I have been on the island 2 weeks and keep coming back to this place (4 times). Cash only. Besides the cute paint job on outside the decor is horrendous (esp the weird blue plastic tablecloths) but the food is delicious and a decent value. I had 3 fish tacos for 3 bucks, a filet for around 6.50 usd, guacamole for 3. Everything I got was good: fresh and simply made. The waiter Rafa is personable, respectful with great English. The kitchen makes everything from scratch. I never had to wait too long but this isn't fast food either. Don't hesitate to try it if you are a fan of affordable terrific food!

Nice place with authentic local food, not too far from the busy restaurant scene at Hidalgo St. the food was very good, specially the Lima Soup and the Poc Chuc and hand made tortillas. The place is very small and usually crowded, somewhat clean and so-so service, bit disorganized in my opinion. But this is an inexpensive place that caters mostly to locals and adventurous tourists, so if you don't expect 5 star place/service this is a very good option to try and taste regional Mayan cuisine, you won't be disappointed - far better than most touristy restaurants at Hidalgo, St..
