We have eaten here for many of the 20 yrs we have been vacationing here years with family and friends for breakfast and dinner. The food and service has always been excellent. As usual it’s the first place we go when we arrive in PV. And several times thereafter. Tonight was one exception, although the food and service was good it only rated a 3 star this time. Why you may ask? My wife and I already had Breakfast there a day before. We as many travelers in PV carry limited amounts of cash for taxi, buses, etc, otherwise we use credit cards For 80% of our purchases. As we have here at Andariego’s for years even 2 days previously. We were told tonight that they can only take Cash. The waiter said they take credit cards on certain days and cash on other days according to the owners instruction. We had enough pesos to pay for the meal & drinks. But not generous tip. We customarily leave a 20% tip. I felt they thought I was intentionally shorting their tip Because of having to pay cash NOT SO, because we now didn’t have money for cab fare back to our hotel. So we had to Walk. Had we know they now required cash we would have been prepared. It was their indifference and in inconsistency In credit card use caused me to post my experience. I’m 82 yrs old and have frequented this restaurant for 20 yrs but This is...

Been here twice across two trips. First time was decent enough to try again this trip, however we won't be going back. Even if the food was good enough to justify paying $100 for two entrees (each with 1 taco, 1 enchilada, 1 tamale, some rice and beans), the service turned very sour at the end.
Bill came to 1,250MXN for the two plates and two orange juices. We left 1,350MXN (slow service, didn't expect cost so had only brought about 1,800MXN, and had to get home still). After we paid and left, the gentleman that had been waiting us at the end came and found us on the sidewalk, showing us the bill with only 1,000MXN in it, and told us we needed to pay. Both of us confused given we'd both counted the 1,350MXN, but not looking for a problem, we counted out an additional 250, and gave it to him. He responded by counting out the bills a couple more times, and looking at us expectantly, clearly very displeased. I proceeded to walk away, he gave a huff, and went back in the restaurant.
Not worth it in one of the best, most affordable food towns on Earth. Head down the street to just about any other restaurant, and enjoy food at least as good for about...
Read moreWe have been staying at the all inclusive across the street and have not been thrilled with the food so we decided it was time to venture out.
The ambiance in this place was amazing. Flowers/vines cover the exterior and some very unique artwork. Lots of fans and open ceiling that can be closed in the event of rain 🌧.
The service was amazing! Large portions of food as you can see in the photos even from the kids menu. We each received a complimentary bean and cheese Taco (the hanging tacos in the pics).
We ordered the table side guacamole, my husband got the enchiladas, chicken finger for my daughter and Mexican Steet Tacos for myself... 2 margaritas (huge) and a guava water and our bill with tip was around $75 US.
My husband really enjoyed his food, I thought the tacos were decent and my daughter ate as much of her food as she could. Drinks, guacamole, the vibe and my daughter eating her food made it all worth it to us!!
I would definitely go back. We didn't have room, but really wanted to try the flaming...
