If you're in Puerto Vallarta and craving some incredible seafood, Il Pesce is the place to be! This spot is an absolute treasure, offering a fantastic dining experience that you won’t want to miss.

From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The decor is charming, with a coastal vibe that perfectly sets the mood for a seafood feast.

Let’s talk about the food – it's phenomenal. I started with the ceviche, and wow, it was fresh and bursting with flavor. The fish was so tender, and the citrus marinade was perfectly balanced. It's a great way to kick off your meal.

For the main course, I went with the grilled octopus, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and packed with smoky goodness. The accompanying sides were spot-on, adding a wonderful depth to the dish.

And you can't miss out on their seafood pasta. It’s a delightful mix of perfectly cooked pasta and an abundance of fresh seafood, all tossed in a savory, rich sauce. It’s the kind of dish that makes you want to savor every single bite.

The service is top-notch too. The staff is super friendly and attentive, always making sure you have everything you need without being intrusive. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and more than happy to recommend their favorites.

Don’t forget to pair your meal with one of their refreshing cocktails. I had a margarita, and it was the perfect blend of tart and sweet, with just the right kick.

Overall, Il Pesce is a must-visit when you're in Puerto Vallarta. The food is exceptional, the ambiance is perfect, and the service is stellar. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling not just satisfied, but truly happy. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their delicious...

After days of tacos and seafood grills in Puerto Vallarta, we were craving something different—and stumbled upon Il Pesce Cucina Di Mare, a hidden gem that instantly transported us to Italy. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming staff set the tone for a memorable evening. What followed was a parade of dishes that were not just delicious, but surprisingly authentic.

What We Ordered: • Insalata di Mare (Seafood Salad) A refreshing start—the seafood was incredibly fresh and naturally flavorful, paired with peppery arugula and just a splash of lemon juice. No heavy seasoning needed when the ingredients shine on their own. • Cappe Sante Gratinate (Scallops with Butter and Parmesan) Golden, crisp parmesan crowned tender, juicy scallops. Each bite offered that perfect contrast: buttery softness beneath a crisp, savory crust. Simply heavenly. • Linguini con le Vongole (Clam Pasta) My husband’s choice—a classic done to perfection. The brininess of the clams provided just the right touch of salt, and the pasta itself had that ideal al dente texture. Elegant in its simplicity. • Fettuccine Frutti di Mare (Seafood Pasta) My personal favorite—a generous medley of fresh seafood, tossed with garlic and white wine, creating a perfectly balanced sauce. Every forkful delivered layers of flavor that kept me going back for more. • Spicy Chocolate Cake A bold ending. Warm, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate with a subtle paprika kick that lingered beautifully on the palate. Paired with pistachio gelato, it struck the perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and surprise.

The portions were generous, the flavors spot-on, and the prices felt more than fair for the quality. By the time we finished two appetizers and pasta, we were happily full but already planning our return visit...

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and big smiles. My husband and I were seated at a spacious, comfortable table. The ambiance is minimalist yet beautifully curated—everything you need, nothing excessive. The whole place radiates positive energy, and it truly feels great to be their guest.

Our server spoke flawless English and was exceptionally attentive to every detail. The cuisine is Italian, and I have to admit, being Italian myself, I tend to be very critical when dining at Italian restaurants abroad. But here… what an incredible surprise!

We were first served lightly toasted bread with a delicious vegetable caponata. The menu, rich with seafood dishes, was simply wonderful. We ordered scallops prepared with butter and topped with a crisp Parmesan crust—perfectly cooked, outstanding ingredients, and full of flavor. We also had a seafood salad with calamari, shrimp, octopus, cherry tomatoes, and a touch of arugula that made me feel like I was on the Amalfi Coast.

Both pasta dishes were five-star quality: I had linguine with clams and cherry tomatoes, perfectly cooked with a sauce so good I couldn’t resist mopping it up with bread. My husband had fettuccine with mixed seafood, also absolutely flawless. For dessert, we shared a spicy chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream—so delicious I was tempted to order a second one right away!

The service was impeccable—attentive, kind, and always smiling without ever being intrusive. We’ve been in Puerto Vallarta for five days now, and I can honestly say this restaurant is a true culinary gem, an experience not to be missed.

My husband and I loved it so much that we already booked a table for tomorrow night. A huge thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful...

I've had the misfortune of dining here twice now during restaurant week and unfortunately, neither experience has left a lasting impression except that the food tasted good. The first time was during Restaurant Week a couple of years ago, and I decided to give it another shot. The intimate setting is overshadowed by the furniture, which feels mismatched with the price point. The chairs, in particular, are quite uncomfortable. I think they are trying to make you feel like you’re in Italy but it’s not working, especially for the price. The staff were friendly, but their service felt somewhat impersonal. We opted for the Restaurant Week menu, which featured dishes not available on the regular menu. While the food was edible, it didn't particularly stand out. When dining out, I crave something beyond the ordinary, something that inspires me to return. Regrettably, this place fell short. Except for the smoked tuna, most of the dishes I ordered could easily be replicated at home. With a culinary arts degree and a passion for cooking, I've developed a keen sense of what makes a dish truly exceptional. When dining at a restaurant, especially at a price point of $575+ pesos, I expect to be wowed or at least memorable. Unfortunately, my main course didn't meet expectations – most notably, it lacked protein but the pasta tasted good. Given the premium price, I was looking for a culinary experience that would surpass what one could create at home. Perhaps it might be time to explore other options in restaurants serving this type of cuisine.

Atmosphere is charming and elegant but cozy. Interior is cleanly designed. Contemporary but homey. Soft, easy music. I was greeted and seated immediately. Waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and recommended dishes that I was interested in ordering. Appetizer was Tuna Bruschetta. It was beautifully presented, a generous portion and tasted fresh and delicious. It could have used a touch more of a leading flavor. Garlic perhaps? Wine glass pours were generous. Main course was shrimp over linguine with a pistachio pesto. Presentation was great. (Served in a wide, deep bowl as pasta should be!) The pasta itself was terrific — like my father made — light, ruffled and so tender. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender and fresh tasting. The lemon pistachio pesto was inspired and absolutely delicious. Again, I only wanted that one flavor should lead. Also, maybe a bit less of the pesto, let that wonderful pasta shine a bit. No point deductions! Dessert was spicy chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. Stunning presentation. I haven’t had a chocolate taste experience like this in a long time. The spice in the cake is enchanting. It’s subtle but not too strong and lingers as an aftertaste for a perfect amount of time. It’s served with ice cream but half the amount would be fine, guys. More cake, less ice cream! Overall, this is a great place. Will definitely be back to try everything. The concept of Italian seafood with fresh pasta in PV is great. Il Pesce Cucina del Mare is now solidly in my top five.
