The restaurant is beautiful and the servers are kind. But the floor manager is a nightmare. I went one night for my birthday dinner and ordered the gnocchi. First thing, my order came 5-10 minute after everyone else's which normally wouldn't bother me. But when it did arrive, the portion of food was laughably small. Everyone else had a huge heaping of food in their bowls and I had a plate of probably about a 1/4 to 1/3 cups of tiny gnocchi. I decided to let that go because I was so hungry but when I took a bite of the pasta it was disgusting, and had clearly not been cooked. It felt like raw wet flour in my mouth, I am not exaggerating. It was shocking. I asked my friends at the table to try it in case I was wrong and they all agreed that it was uncooked and inedible. At this point we asked the server if I could have something else (it was obvious that they didn't have any gnocchi ready to go when I ordered so they made it in a rush and didn't cook it long enough which was why it was such a small portion, took so long, and was raw) and the server was kind. However, the floor manager then ran over and yelled at me for several minutes about it. He accused me of not knowing what gnocchi tastes like and berated me until I said I didn't want any replacement and actually cried at the table. The entire restaurant staff team was staring at our table the entire time. After he left several minutes later, the server brought me a plate of tagliatelle that was delicious but that I couldn't eat. We packaged up it up take home and when we got the bill we found that the floor manager had put BOTH the tagliatelle that I didn't actually order and the gnocchi that I had returned on my bill. We could not believe it. When we brought it up, he was again extremely aggressive and frankly acted insane. We made it clear we were not paying for both plates and they came and took the leftovers bag from our table and removed a box, at which point we realized that he had tried to sneak the disgusting inedible gnocchi into the leftovers with the tagliatelle as some sketchy way to try to charge us for both. Why would we want to take home the raw gnocchi?! Why would you charge someone for BOTH plates under there circumstances?? The floor manager proceeded to stare and glare at me for the duration of the evening as if I had personally insulted him and his family. It was the most bizarre and over the top reaction to what would have equated to about $3 of waste from their kitchen. We were a table of 12 people with one complaint, it was unbelievable to behave that way and lose that much business over something so small. We had been there a few nights earlier and really enjoyed the food and liked our server which was why we went back. Out poor server was embarrassed and apologized to us. And later we heard from someone else that the same floor manager had yelled at them the night before because they returned their steak to be cooked more (he wanted medium-well and it came twice very rare). They said the man ran up to their table and yelled at them about it. All we can assume is that his kid is in the kitchen and he takes personal offense to any criticisms of the food because it was unhinged and embarrassing. I feel bad for the servers because it was clear that they cannot stand the man and see him abuse customers daily. And ultimately it costs THEM tips and return customers. We gave our server a good tip and apologized for the trouble and got having to deal with what this guy puts him through, and he apologized for how we were treated. It's too bad because honestly, the servers are lovely and when the food is made correctly it's delicious! But none of us will EVER go back because it's not worth being screamed at and harassed by that man over what would be considered an insignificant issue anywhere else. I rarely ever complain and I'm extremely polite and laid back, especially yo service workers (I have worked in service jobs for 20+ years) so the fact that this man made me cry on my birthday over raw gnocchi is unforgivable. Say goodbye to...

I went in Sunday for dinner. I had been in the night before for dinner and sat at the bar. Was served by the same older gentleman. Aloof is his baseline. That’s his best. I’ve been to the restaurant on trips to PV many times before and had the older gentleman bartender before. His service is subpar, but the food is good. He doesn’t greet folks. Isn’t friendly but it’s expected.
Sunday night when I arrived there were very few diners and no one at the bar. So I sat at the end of the bar and the same old man bartender was at the other end - his back to the entrance / talking and laughing with a small group of employees.
5 minutes of waiting and I decided bartender was either oblivious or just ignoring me. He would make drinks for waiters as they came up though. I considered leaving but waited instead.
He finally made it over and took my drink order - no greeting. No welcome back. Just what would you like. I ordered a drink and he brought it over with a menu. Then walked back to his gaggle off employees.
After about 8 mins I had almost finished my drink and long since closed my menu having decided what I would eat. He finally made it over and just stood in front of me - no ‘what would you like?’ or ‘what sounds good?’ Just stood there staring. I was mid way through my order when I decided I deserved better treatment as a customer. I told him I’ll pay for my beer and leave. As I was pulling out cash he said “is something wrong with you?” I dropped the cash + tip and left. No, nothing is wrong with me. Something is wrong with an aloof, disengaged, unfriendly bartender. PV is know for its stellar service this guy really sticks out with his negative attitude and poor service. I recommend he gets some training.
Clearly the joy for what he does has left him. The other staff is great so he’s not...

I have Ben to both the romantic zone and the malecon locations and both are equally bad. Starting from the beginning, the bread is from a basic whit sandwich loaf and toasted. No where have I seen an Italian restaurant that does this. Most have a decent bread even if purchased from a supplier. The salads are uninspired and the dressing have no flavor or creativity. Just olive oil and vinegar with no seasoning. Regarding the pizza, I don’t know how they managed to do it but the crust is so tough you.need a knife and fork to cut it. At the same time it is so limp that you can’t pick it up because it won’t support the ingredients. The ingredients are also completely out of proportion. We ordered a pizza with onion and when it came out it was completely cover in white onion that was put on after the pizza was cooked. Another pie ordered with black olives had so much love that you couldn’t taste anything else. Also forget about getting a pie that doesn’t have their flavorless tomato sauce as a base because they don’t offer any other options. Almost all of the pasta comes from a box and only a couple selections are available fresh.
Regarding service. Just plan on staying the night before you get waited on or before a waiter ever comes back to check on you. When the bill was finally brought after requesting a third time, I paid in cash with way more than what was needed to include a tip. When I asked a second time they returned the folio with the change but had removed the bill. When I asked for the bill to see how much I needed to tip, the waiter said “well just subtract the change from what you put I. The folder.” No offer to get or...
