I walked 40 minutes here last week when their opening hours were 7am, and at 8:20am, they were not open. I left a 1⭐ review and removed it after the owner left me a reply. I also saw they changed their opening time to 8:00am. Later that day I checked in to my 2nd CDMX Airbnb and was happy to see it was across the street from this cafe. Two other times I went and they were not open on time.
Most recently this morning before I was checking out, with an opening time of 9:00am, at 9:40am, they were still not open. I found other good coffee and a pastry like the previous two times and when I walked past at 10am, they still were not ready for business. I have managed cafe's in the US, and know you have to be there at least one hour to prep your food, set up your outside space and heat up the espresso machine, to be ready for your first customer at your listed opening time. Roma Norte has many amazing choices for coffee and the competition is tight. Frustrating a new customer before they can even try your coffee is bad business. My last piece of advice: "Excuses only satisfies the person who...
Read moreOne of the best chais in the city, coupled with great, friendly service in a cozy setting. Arriving at the cafe, I was immediately acknowledged and ordered a chai latte with oat milk (they had Oatly—bonus points). While the barista was preparing my beverage, I went to use the WC, which was a bit of a hassle to reach since you have to go through the cafe and up a couple of steps (just an FYI). By the time I returned to my table, the chai was waiting for me with delightful latte art. The first sips were heavenly, making the entire experience cozy and worthwhile (9.5/10). The chai had slightly stronger notes of cardamom, which I loved, and the Oatly made it perfectly balanced. I paid $78 for the chai with oat milk, which is average and more than fair for one of the best chais I’ve tried in the city. The friendly service and overall chill atmosphere created a relaxing experience, making Bezza Coffee an...
Read moreThe coffee was exceptional.
I had a Horchata Brew, which essentially a coffee made with Mexican style Horchata (rice water, sometimes milk, cinnamon sugar and other spices). It was really one of the best coffees I've ever had in Mexico City.
To eat I tried the Churro Cruffin - a Cruffin that was covered in cinnamon sugar - sounds great in theory, even looked great! But was so dry that it wasn't enjoyable.
That atmosphere is really cool and I did enjoy the vibe. It was a really slow day when we went and we're able to enjoy our coffee and conversation on piece which was...
