Café de Raíz — Restaurant in Mexico City

I hate doing this to a small business or even changing my review if it was already a 5 star. This morning I went in for breakfast and there were no orders waiting since the two tables that were there had their food on the table. As soon as the server came to our table we ordered our drinks and food. About 5-7 minutes later a female walked in and the server greeted her with a kiss on the cheek (which I assume is her friend.) He took her order and that was that. After about 10 minutes her food comes out and we still had not received our food. About 2 minutes later my food comes out and it was cold. My partner’s food did not come out with mine, but it came out 5 minutes later and it was hot. I did not enjoy mine since it was cold. Not sure what they do in the kitchen and why the friend’s food came out first, but what a disappointment. I will not return.

Horrible. I ordered a chilaquiles with chicken and was basically totopos and the sauce (the photo doesThe beans is this ridiculous amount as you can see in the photo. I Found a little hair in the bocol and the orange juice was watery. To finish, I went to pay with my card and the guy(was not the waiter, I think is the owner) just said “it’s cash only - is there 👉🏼 (a very small sign black and white on the wall)” and left. they should put this on the menu if they really cared about it and us. We wanted to try this place since it has good reviews and good pictures of what they offer. We got here at a good time since we were able to seat outside while there was still shade on our table. The server came around and offered the menus as well as different drink options. Their coffee was good and I really liked their corn bread. The food came next, and we both liked what we got, it was fast and tasty. If you wanted to pay with card, you are out of luck, you must pay in cash. We did not mind so we did and were out.
