This is one of the traditional places to eat while in the Centro Historico area, a place full of traditions and good food. You won't find haute cuisine dishes here, but the normal fare of a Mexican meal: enchiladas, eggs several styles, sandwiches, coffee and pan dulce.

The prices are reasonable, not very cheap but you can have a meal for less than 90 pesos, they have combos for breakfast and on weekdays.

The pan dulce is good, but I prefer the one from Café El Popular, just a block towards the zócalo.

The restaurant area is much bigger than El Popular so if you are claustrophobic this is the one you would prefer, the other is...

Amazingly old styled place with the charm that has always existed. Very warm staff and the owners themselves are such jovial people.

Food choices are awesome and delivery is quick. The place follows all the covid protocols. The bread and dip they serve in the beginning is awesome too!

Go here with a big appetite. Sea food as well as other choices are good too!. A good choice of non+alcoholic beverages. It has a bunch of traditional mexican drinks that you definitely need to try. For instance the Horchata drink. Don't forget to try the traditional 'chiles en Nogada' can't get more...

Retro cafe with sweet older granny types waitressing. I'm not Mexican but read that they offer a lot of classic takes on Mexican foods. We enjoyed the conchas, ham and eggs, fresh orange juice and cafe con leche. Didn't like the chilaquiles because it was doused in sour salsa verde - but I don't know if this is normal for chilaquiles everywhere. Also, I accidentally left my debit card and hours later, they were really nice about putting up with my broken spanish on the phone, checking for it and keeping it for me. Would definitely...

My wife and I traveled to Mexico City recently and we stopped at this spot for breakfast one day. We were very please with everything we ordered. I especially enjoyed the seasonal Chiles En Nogadas. During my time here, I didn’t hear anyone speaking English, so you might want to be prepared to order your meal in Spanish. This is a cafe, which has more of a diner feel to it. Nothing fancy, but it is very clean…and the service is terrific.

Good service, great coffee, really nice fresh bread served with every dish. My only complaint is I thought the machaca lacked value—small with not very much meat. To be honest, it was the least-good machaca I’ve had in MX…I’ve even had better in USA. The rest of the menu looks like excellent value, should have just gone with one of the chilaquiles plates. Would still come back
