Casa Kuri — Restaurant in Mexico City

We were in Mexico City the first week of December and explored the food scene there. This restaurant was recommended to us from the hotel we stayed at. Honestly, when we showed up, we thought the hotel played a prank on us. At best, this is a hole in the wall. But you would not guess that if you looked at the menu price. It was more expensive than some of the amazing restaurants we ate at in Mexico City. The food was absolutely sub par. So was the service. There is no way the positive reviews are real. This place is an absolute gem! From the delicious food to the vibrant atmosphere and soothing music, everything is set up to ensure a great time. What stood out most was the exceptional customer service; our server, Marcelo, went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. As a hookah / shisha / кальян enthusiast, I found this to be the best spot in Mexico for smoking, especially since hookah spots aren't very common here. We were there towards the end of December and were left extremely disappointed. A restaurant can improve everything over time but you gotta get food right. We ordered the Shawarma and the Ravioli and we found both things very food. It was clearly supermarket Ravioli (served cold), portion sizes were really small and overpriced to the point that I did a double take.
