I really wanted to like Constela Café and decided to give it another try, hoping my first visit was just an off day. Unfortunately, the second experience left me even more certain that it’s not the place for me. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt flat. The staff don’t bring much warmth or excitement to their work, and that lack of energy carries over into the whole experience.
When it came to the drinks, everything we ordered fell short of expectations. My biggest disappointment was my own order, I specifically asked for a dirty chai and received just a plain chai with no coffee in it. It’s such a small but important detail, and it completely changed the drink I was looking forward to. For a café that’s supposed to specialize in coffee, getting something as simple as that wrong makes the visit feel careless.
The frustrating part is that Constela has such strong branding. The design, the look of the café, and the overall aesthetic are what pulled me back in, even after I wasn’t impressed the first time. It’s the kind of place you want to believe will deliver on the promise it makes visually. But once again, the reality didn’t match the presentation.
Walking away, I couldn’t help but feel let down again. Constela Café looks like the kind of spot that should be memorable and worth recommending, but in practice, it misses the mark. I wish the service carried more joy and the drinks lived up to the café’s image, but sadly, this was my second...
Read moreI’d been wanting to try this stylish café for some time. Because I absolutely despiiiiise being served drinks in disposable cups, I specified “para tomar aquí”, even though everyone around me on the full patio had pretty ceramic mugs and elegant glasses. When my drink came out in a plastic cup, I wanted to cry! The server was understanding and replaced it with a real glass, but it still came with a disposable plastic swizzle stick. So wasteful and disappointing.
Pros: The service was top-notch. Friendly and attentive, the server even brought my dog a bowl of water, which we both appreciated. My iced mocha was spot on, super tasty and the perfect mix of espresso, chocolate and soy milk – delicious and refreshing on a hot morning. There’s a decent amount of outdoor seating which was shielded from the street with plants and nicely shaded around 11am.
Overall I loved the place, but will hold off on returning until they stop using disposables for their dine-in guests. As a customer, it seems fair to expect a more elevated experience than a McDonald’s drive-thru, and for the prices they charge, they could afford to stock the appropriate amount of glass and silverware to serve everyone equally, even when...
Read moreIf you want to buy incredibly expensive flavour, come here! But don't expect the taste to match.
I have to admit that I liked the interior. It looked futuristic and quite honestly very hipster.
The Matcha I ordered was prepared with milk. Quite confusing, as it should be made with water, the Japanese way is very specific with this one. We also had a Flat White. It tasted sweet, which it shouldn't.
What we didn't like at all: we immediately got offered oat milk as alternative. That's nice, and we chose it (maybe this added the sweet taste, though classic oat milk is not sweet at all). But charging 20$ for each drink extra for that felt like a huge rip off. There was no information about that. When paying you will be requested a tip. 10% was pre-chosen, the other options only went up, or choosing an own sum. No tip didn't seem like an option. Again the feeling of getting overcharged.
In the end, for 2 drinks, we spent 200$. 10 USD. Let that sink. I...
