ALMANAQUE fotográfica — Attraction in Mexico City

Still trying to figure out what happened today at this gallery. I passed in front of it and saw something that seems to be an interesting exhibition. I check the front info plate and it says that the gallery is open. I saw that there was a guy sit in a table in one of the rooms, but he seemed to be busy. So, I got it in and started to check the exhibition. To my surprise, the guy comes to the front door and with the mouth full asks me to leave since he was eating! It was as so awkward because I checked the opening hours exactly to not create any problem, and this guy comes out of nowhere, with an angry face, opens the door and just says: leave, because I am eating. I think that an art space can (and may) cause discomfort in some occasions. But I never thought of experiencing...

Conocí a Arturo cuando iniciaba con este proyecto. La idea siempre fue hacer accesible el trabajo de jóvenes fotógrafos a un mayor público a través de la impresión y venta de su trabajo. Esto gracias a amplitud de las series; de tal forma que cualquiera pueda hacerse de una pieza de calidad, una obra de arte a un muy buen precio.

Me latió la idea de apoyar nuevos talentos y difundir otros ya consolidados. La idea original cambió al ampliarse e incluir artistas internacionales en lugar de sólo trabajos mexicanos. Los artistas de su catálogo son muy distintos en cuanto a los temas y técnicas que abordan. Así, hay fotografías abstractas, otras de la vida cotidiana, documental, naturaleza o hasta ciencia.

Es una buena opción no sólo para ver foto contemporánea, sino para hacerse de obras con las que empezar una colección o hasta un sitio para tener en cuenta si quieres decorar tu depa,...
