We are visiting from California and wanted some nice craft beer, however this was not satisfied here. Although I speak Spanish, it is my second language, and I have to imagine this played a role in this experience. We walked in, looking at the menus at the bar. After waiting for 5 minutes the server playing on their phone looked up and told us that we needed to sit down in order to place an order. Upon hearing this, we asked if we could sit outside, to which the bartender said no, since we were a group of 5 and there was only a table for 3 and 2, and that we are unable to combine them. We said that was fine and sat at a table in the back of the restaurant. After waiting for about 10 minutes, with none of the 4 servers (who were not busy) coming to check on us, we decided to leave. We headed next door to La Llorona for a drink where we then saw a group of individuals (Spanish speaking might I add) move the outside tables together to seat more than 5 individuals. Read moreLoved this place. I look for craft beer everywhere I go and it’s rare I get this lucky.
We wandered in looking for a drink to reinvigorate ourselves after a long walking around CDMX and we ended up staying for several, so it must have been good.
Tonnes of stuff on tap, and it changes pretty frequently, so worth making a few trips as we did. The tap list is up to date and easy to find online. We tried a load of local beers including Wendlandt’s Perro Del Mar and Mexi Hazy, both of which were amazing. We came back another day to try a few beer’s from Insurgente we had seen coming up on the tap list, including Juan Mango and another one I’ve forgotten the name of.
The staff are cool and friendly, and it’s a fun busy place in the evenings when it starts to bustle a little bit more.
Not cheap, but craft beer isn’t, and it’s VERY good beer.
Wish they were...
Read moreSlightly strange experience. Beers were fine - slightly more expensive than other craft beer places we’ve been to.
There was a sign in English on our table saying we needed to order food in order to drink. This was a shame, as we were only looking to have a few drinks but we understood some bars have specific rules. As we waited to order, we realised nobody else was eating. We asked the waiter and he said that’s because the food takes time. While we were there, multiple people sat near or next to us and drunk without ordering food. In addition, the food options were limited.
If it is necessary to order food, it would be better that this rule is consistently applied and that there is a range of options - bar food and...
