Walked in really excited to try their patisserie, they have extensive menu of it and everything looks really good. I had big expectations because of all the positive comments here plus all the advertisements in different magazines. Decided to go for croissants (butter and almond), chocolate choux, framboise eclair and baguette; the first two were disappointing for a “french” patisserie, the almond one was extremely sweet and with a weird consistency in the inside (mushy) while the butter one needed more butter although the texture was better. The framboise eclair just had some full fruits in the inside (no framboise cream or coulis) so basically didn’t taste a lot like the fruit they promised. The choux was ok but the cream they use is mñha, nothing really special that makes me want to come back and try the rest because it’s basically the same cream they use in their eclair (most likely is the one they use in all of them) plus the coffee/hazelnuts cream had lumps. On the other hand the baguette is nicely done, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the inside with a really balanced flavour and honestly I would only recommend this product.
Also their staff is really friendly and helpful. The place looks really...
Read moreMy friends and I visited Ficelle several mornings for breakfast and pastries, and each time was a delight. The service was attentive and friendly—occasionally a little slow, but that’s part of the relaxed rhythm of being in Mexico.
The outdoor seating is charming, surrounded by greenery and decorated with natural plants, which creates such a pleasant atmosphere to start the day. I especially enjoyed the Betty juice made with beets—it was fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious.
The pastry selection feels endless, unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere in Mexico. During our visit, they were offering pan de muerto for Día de los Muertos, with a creative twist: a rich chocolate filling. It was outstanding!
Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful experience here—delicious food, a beautiful setting, and a bakery that truly makes you want to come back...
Read moreMy family and I were excited to try Ficelle, we’ve passed it by many times on walks and always thought the desserts looked delicious. Last night we got to try some Ficelle desserts we tried; the vanilla de Mexico eclair, the framboise tart and the pistachio macaroon all three were made with some royal icing component which made everything way too sweet and honestly tasted not only inauthentic to a French style dessert (which I can accept as we are in Mexico-it’s often nice to have a Mexican flare on other regional dishes) but this tasted…cheap/low quality. On top of that these desserts were not fresh. There’s a film over all the desserts almost like a crust because they’re dried out a bit, they’re not fresh. So, I have to say I wouldn’t come back or recommend Ficelle. Your money can go elsewhere and get you some much much better tasting and...
