TL;DR - Undercooked meat and pasta, poor wine portion, good service. Not worth the price. Click and scroll for full review

This place has very good reviews and is popular on social media, so my girlfriend and I were excited to have dinner here.

However, it did not meet our expectations (to put it mildly).

Here’s our honest review of the place:

THE GOOD - cool vibe with great music. Waiters were very nice and accommodating (as much as possible given what was to come).

THE BAD - we started off with some wine (prosecco) for my girlfriend and gin tonic for me. The wine bottle was almost empty and the portion looked very small. When asked about it, the waiter told us they measure it always at 5 ounces but judging from same glasses from other tables, I would guess we got 3-4 ounces (see picture attached). Then there was the gin - I asked for gin de frutos rojos (gin with red fruits, very common in Mexico and always prepared with blended red fruits). This time, however, I was literally served gin with tonic water and one raspberry and one blackberry in it. Not a big deal for me as I enjoy gin anyways, but I ask for gin de frutos rojos often in Mexico City and it’s the first time this happened (see picture attached)

THE UGLY - then came the food. There’s no sugar coating it - the pasta was under cooked (not al dente, we love al dente). When we told the waiter, he sent the food back to the kitchen and the chef said they would cook it again. We also got pescado del dia (catch of the day), the main fish plate. It was salmon, but half of it (the taller side) was very undercooked (see picture attached).

At the end, we paid 1227 pesos ($62) for 2 people without dessert (see bill attached), which is expensive for Mexico City. This means this was overall a terrible experience for the price.

If you’re looking for a great fine dining Italian food in CDMX, I highly...

The interior design is tastefully executed, combining modern elegance with rustic charm, while the ambient music creates an enjoyable backdrop for dining.

Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the cleanliness of the establishment, including the well-maintained restrooms. The service, however, presents a dichotomy. While the waiting staff are attentive, their disposition can be perceived as somewhat uncooperative, which detracts from the overall dining experience.

The menu touts an Italian cuisine focus, yet the dishes served seem to blur the lines between traditional Italian and Mexican influences. This fusion approach is particularly evident in the pasta, which, regrettably, was overly salty. The eggplant, although flavoursome, was spiced with an unexpected heat that might not appeal to those averse to spicy food. Unfortunately, one of my companions, who has a sensitivity to such seasonings, experienced discomfort after the meal, which led to a rather unsatisfactory conclusion to our visit. When this issue was raised with the kitchen staff, their response was far from professional, falling short of the expected standards of...

My wife and I, along with four other family members, had an unforgettable dining experience at Galea Italian Restaurant in Mexico City on Friday, July 25th. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for an exceptional evening.

The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish burst with authentic Italian flavors, crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The presentation was impeccable, making every plate as visually appealing as it was flavorful.

The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring we had a wonderful time. They provided excellent recommendations and made us feel truly valued throughout our meal.

Galea's vibrant atmosphere added a special charm to our dinner. The ambiance was cozy yet elegant, creating the perfect setting for both intimate conversations and lively family gatherings.

Overall, our experience at Galea Italian Restaurant was outstanding. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City who appreciates superb Italian cuisine, exceptional service, and a delightful dining...

Found this place on Michelin Guide as bib gourmand. It is WRONG! This place must have a star and I sincerely wish they got it ASAP. Great and cozy atmosphere, doesn’t matter where you are sitting outside or in. Menu is not very long, however with three specials you definitely have a choice. Food arrives promptly, beautifully arranged and super tasty! Most of the pastas - they all made in house - you can get half size. That our only mistake, we didn’t do it. If we ever back in Mexico City we’ll be back! First thing after arrival. And second! P.S. Sorry, cut my review short! My wife ordered canoly and I must tell you that was even better than all we ate before!
