Las Coloradas Marisquería — Restaurant in Mexico City

We were staying nearby and found this restaurant when we checked out eateries in the neighborhood. Although the night was a little cool, we enjoyed sitting outside at a table and listening to music. Service was great - we explained that one of us has a gluten allergy and they immediately understood and helped choose dishes that would accommodate. The starter was a shrimp consommé and it was amazing! We raved about it so much they brought a second cup. We even asked for the recipe and they gladly explained how it was made. It also appeared again later as a dip for one of the tacos. Both the green and black angochile dishes were great (although they were cold dishes, which we hadn’t expected). Serving sizes for the angochiles were generous; a half serving would have been fine. All the food was fresh and very flavorful. The staff are not fluent in English and our Spanish is not the best, but we had enjoyable conversations nevertheless. Prices seemed very reasonable for the quality and atmosphere, and we would be regulars here if we lived in CDMX....

The food here is outstanding — everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. Prices are very reasonable given the quality. The atmosphere was just perfect for a laid-back Sunday afternoon, lively but relaxed, with just the right energy to enjoy a long meal.

The michelada was spot on — refreshing, tangy, and exactly what you want in the heat. For food, you can’t go wrong with the pulpo al pastor or the mar y tierra — both dishes balance flavors beautifully and pair perfectly with the drinks.

Una experiencia excelente de principio a fin... Desde que llegamos, el personal nos recibió con una calidez y amabilidad que realmente marca la diferencia. Los meseros fueron atentos, serviciales y muy profesionales en todo momento, siempre con una sonrisa y dispuestos a recomendar los mejores platos del menú. El gerente también se acercó a nuestra mesa para asegurarse de que todo estuviera a nuestro gusto, lo cual es un detalle que se aprecia mucho y habla del compromiso con la calidad del servicio.
