Tucked away from the what can be a very busy city on the weekends is this little oasis. After climbing the stairs to this beautiful terrace your taste buds will be thankful that you came here. I was greeted warmly by the staff and as I gazed around from the rooftop I hope that I would be as delighted with the food as I was with the setting. My delight was surpassed. The service I received was better than most restaurants I have visited. Friendly, helpful and happy to answer any questions. Being in Oaxaca I had to try Chipulines which turn out to be the best snack to have with a cold beer. I also ordered the quesadillas with pumpkin blossom, the taco with mushrooms and of course, mole. This time packed full of oaxacan cheese. I am so very happy that I visited this wonderful spot and I’ll definitely come back before I leave Oaxaca. Do yourself a huge favor and come here for five star food...

"Visited with my family and found the food to be decent, though there are superior options nearby. The mole negro looks amazing, but the reality is that it delvers an ok but not exceptional flavor. My sons enjoyed their Baja fish tacos, which are hard to get wrong. My wife needed some greenery and ordered a greek salad that was also quite average.

Despite the rooftop location, the atmosphere falls short of expectations. This restaurant is fine, but Oaxaca offers more impressive dining experiences at comparable or lower prices.

I'd recommend looking elsewhere for mole or other Oaxacan dishes that are a short taxi ride away. Our US$50 could have been better spent at a different restaurant with more...

We had a lovely dinner here during our stay in Oaxaca. The caldo de piedra was a highlight and they invited us to watch this being cooked. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Lots of options to try a range of local or international dishes.

The Google maps location is correct, but the restaurant has only been in this location for a month and is no longer in a food market setting as previous reviews had stated. It is inside a building at the top of some stairs - we were a bit unsure if we had gone wrong but the music above guided us ms glad we didn't turn around. See attached photos of what to expect on how to get there from...

We were a little unsure about this spot despite the good reviews mainly because the climb to the restaurant feels like you might be in the wrong place. But walk up all the steps, past some guest rooms, around a defunct hot tub, up another short flight of steps, and you will find a charming roof-top spot with authentic foods, great drinks, and a friendly and attentive staff. Our waiter was hustling to keep the food moving and to keep the guests happy. We went mainly for the grasshopper tlayuda (though we had other things) and it did not disappoint. It was a quintessential part of our Oaxaca experience, and watching them cook it over the coals was a fun bonus too.
