I'm only being this detailed because I appreciate the owner asking what was wrong so they could improve... The Constituyentes location I never have a problem with but this location I find the service to be quite bad. The products are amazing as always, but I'm always let down by the service. The last time I was there it seemed there were 4 staff and only 2 customers and no one came to order, and if due to covid we needed to go up and order... no one told us. So eventually we went in where all the staff were doing anything but greeting us or taking our order. After a few minutes we finally asked if we could order. Once our order arrived, half of it was wrong so went inside to fix it. Rather than fix it the cashier told me I ordered something else, which I didn't and I would have to pay again if I wanted something different. I recalled to her our exact conversation where she confirmed special parts of my order and she remembered but said in the end that I ordered what I received. I'm vegan, and I would never order regular milk. I thought she understood the situation and was going to remake my drink, but the 4 staff members were just talking to each other. I finally asked if my drink was coming up soon so I can go back to my friend and she asked "so you want it?"
Finally I got the drink. It was perfect. And just the quality I'm used to from Ah Cacao. But it was about 20min from my arrival that I finally got to sit down and...
Read moreWhy go to Starbucks? Support the smaller guys. Love this chain of Ah Cacoa Chocolate Cafes. I usually start my day here and people watch on 5th avenue. The coffee, baked goods and service is outstanding. I normally order a side of mayan sipping chocolate and a large light triple espresso latte. The large coffees already have 2 shots of espresso in them so I add one more. They sell tons of Ah Cacoa chocolate products (some cafes have more offerings than others). Don't throw away your receipt when u get your order the wifi code for the cafe is on the receipt. DISCLAIMER: I do purchase my Ah Cacoa Mayan chocolate bars at the Mega Store cuz they are 63 pesos vs 69 pesos at the Ah Cacao Cafe. I bring the Mayan chocolate bars back to Texas as gifts from my annual...
Read moreThis is a great little cafe on No. 5 Ave with outdoor seating (only). We went there for a mocha latte (iced, although they also have frapachino aid hot) around 2:00pm. The mocha was rich, smooth, and not too sweet. I had it with soy milk and it was amazing.
The shop had a terrific selection of chocolate souvenirs and gifts. Everything from raw caocao beans to chocolate shampoo. We sampled a few chocolates, and bought some dark, white, and milk chocolate squares as well as chocolate and milk covered coffee beans.
Having authentic Mexican and Mayan chocolate should be on any traveler's to do list. Even though this is a chain cafe I suggest going here for that reason, and because if you like chocolate at all, it’s the...
