My family and I moved to Playa Del Carmen in January and used to go to the Bio Natural in 5th Avenue a couple of times a week as we are vegan/vegetarian and try to only eat organic. We live right next to the 5th Avenida restaurant so for us it was perfect. However, we had a big problem with the waitress called Florencia, who works there, after a couple of weeks. My mother wrote a review about the incident when it happened. She gave us terrible service where the whole time she was cracking jokes and talking with the cooks, not giving us menus when we asked multiple times, to the point where we had to get up and get them ourselves. The food took forever when really there was only one other table with a couple to serve which arrived after us. The cherry on top of the cake was when we had to pay and she asked if we wanted to leave a tip and we said no due to the terrible service and she became extremely arrogant asking us why. When we explained her answer was "you need to learn how to wait" and then followed by a "next time you come i will not serve you so don't bother coming back". Absolutely horrendous customer service. A few days passed and we came to ask what her name was to speak with the manager about her and the cook Jose gave us a fake name telling us it was Fanny. We started hearing from friends of ours that they also had bad experiences with Florencia in the 5th Ave so it is recurrent. One other time we were there there was another client who asked for the wifi as it wasn't working very well and she told them to go some place else. After all this, we wrote a review and Luis the manager told us he would take care of her as this was unacceptable behaviour which he didn't tolerate in his restaurant. We then started going to the other restaurant on 10th Ave because we love the food, the staff is extremely nice (particularly Angie who gives 10/10 service) while waiting for action to be taken against Florencia. We spend between 2000-3000MXC$ a week as we are 4 so we are good clients. Last night we found out that Luis never took action, nor was he ever there to speak to us every time we came in. And worst of all, Florencia will now be moved to the 10th Ave restaurant a few times a week. This means that no action was taken against her. This place had become our temple, although it was far from home unlike the other one we had to stop going to and now we will not be coming back anymore. It's a shame because it's a great restaurant and the quality of the food is delicious but waiters in a restaurant are what gives it that extra plus. If the customer service isn't good, the restaurant quality drops. How a waiter treats a customer is the most important experience. For example again, Angie (10th Ave restaurant) is amazing, always smiling and giving great service. The first contact with staff is always the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here 4 times. In regards to food, some of the meals are good while others are flavourless.
In regards to service, it is horrible. Do not come here unless you are willing to wait over 40 minutes (every time!) to get the change to your bill.
Additionally, the 2nd time I went here I was given serious attitude when I didn't give a 'big enough' tip. They said my tip amount was 'insulting' and asked for more. I explained very clearly and politely that I was very displeased with my food and the service. They were very rude to me about it and still continued asking for a bigger tip. Not cool!
The last time I went there it took them 20 minutes to bring me a menu after I asked for it twice. I ordered 1 coffee like a minute after. 30 minutes passed as I waited for my coffee. I asked the waitress what was going on and she rudely told me to wait. Mind you- I was the ONLY person there!!! There was no one else there except me! Then when it had been 45 minutes I went inside to see what was taking so long and my coffee was half made on the side while the waitress was chatting away to a group of men inside. I told her that I had to go because I didn't have time to wait any longer for 1 coffee and she was very rude about it but I didn't expect to wait over an hour in total for 1 coffee. Especially cause I was the only one there! That was when I decided I did not want to give that place any more of my money.
The worst service I have had in Playa del Carmen during my 3 months of being here. Do not recommend unless you want to wait for ages, eat mediocre food and get attitude from workers that offer less than the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off let me say, donāt get here early for breakfast. Google maps says 7:30 but that is for the attached store. The restaurant opens up at 8:00 or so. Let me stress the āor soā because when I pointed out the opening time, I was told that was for the store (which I fully expected to hear) and that the restaurant opened at 8:00, with a little shrug and a little hand wave to the kitchen and a mumbled when they are ready. My order was ready to be taken at 8:20. As I said, donāt rush the opening. I ordered their enchiladas which came with soy chorizo and scrambled eggs mixed together. From the looks of it the dish had sat for a few minutes in the window and the side of beans were no longer hot. Regardless, I enjoyed the meal immensely. Another glitch - I had ordered what they called rustic potatoes. When I ordered them I was asked if I wanted them first and I said no, with my meal. They got forgotten. When I asked about them the waiter went to check. They took so long that I was mostly done with my meal. They were French fries. The ketchup was certainly not Heinz has another reviewer thought, but a little sweet for my taste. They came out nice and hot. I debated on 3 or 4 stars and I decided to round up because it is difficult to find truly vegetarian food.
The waiter was friendly. The food was good. I would...
