This little Persian spot is in an unexpected place to find kebab but definitely a welcome surprise. It’s more of a small shop than a full-on restaurant, but don’t let that fool you—the food is made fresh and with care. We were helped by Lucas, who was an absolute gem. Super friendly and attentive, and he actually made everything from scratch while we were there, which made the whole experience feel personal and authentic. We went with the family mix to try a bit of everything: Chenje kebab, Kubideh, and Jujeh kebab. We also ordered doogh, Mast-o-Khiar, and Salad Shirazi. The food was fresh and satisfying—it didn’t taste exactly like traditional Persian food (which makes sense since ingredients are harder to come by in Mexico), but they did have sumac, which was a nice touch and showed effort in getting the details right. If you’re in Playa del Carmen and craving Persian food, this place is worth a visit. It’s not traditional in the strictest sense, but it’s heartfelt, fresh, and made with love. And Lucas alone is reason enough to stop by.

We decided to try this place based on previous reviews .As we enjoy Persian food . We ordered Margaritas to start but we were told they had no sugar . Ok ?I still drank one and it was good . I ordered the Sharazi salad .. I can Honestly say Ive had more pico de gallo given with chips at some restaurants .I also had the falafel 5 balls they were ok and it came with french fries , I was not aware but didnt want Id have much rather a salad more than 3oz,He ordered A kebab sandwich .. We were told they were out of buns ? So offered it on a Big burrito tortilla , it had one small piece of kebab a piece of lettuce and half a slice of tomato not even Any sauce nor tahini!! He took some from my kebabs .Dont waste you time or money .. Charge me more if you need to I realize the increase cost of things but we had to go eat a second dinner .. Paying 6$ for basically 4 oz of chopped salad no bueno.. …hand in pic for size comparison another note had another similar salad at another middle eastern Place 2 days before 2x the size and less cost

Simply put, 5 stars is not enough. 6 stars!! I stumbled upon this place while walking around Playa, and decided to give it a try. First of all, the Mast O Khiar (yogurt) is a great way to start the meal. It has such a calming taste. But lets be honest, you don't come here for the yogurt. YOU COME HERE FOR THE MEAT, which is such a great quality. The KOOBIDEH KEBAB is the best I've ever had, and I've had persian food in many places including los angeles, miami, and arizona. This trumps them all. The meat is so delicious, so tender, it makes my mouth water just typing this review. Believe it or not, even though the meat steals the show, even the RICE and vegetables are amazing too match. The tomato is so sweet like a snack, the rice is cooked perfectly. I like this place so much I came twice for dinner during a 4 day trip!! The chef is very kind and helpful, as are all the employees. Great customer service, great food, this place may not look so fancy but the best places surprise you. I will be back.

Food taste ok, horrible service.

PS. Since the owner replied let me elaborate. I seek out this restaurant based on food reviews so while it was late I deliberately walked to this place instead of getting food closer near by. I came around 12:20. First I waited for the menu. Then I ordered the drinks. While I was ready to order, the waiter was not ready to take the order. I placed down the menu and just waited. The drinks came, 2:1 but Margarita of a blue color-never seen this before. Tastef pretty diluted to me but I figured-more water, better hydration, plus they are 2:1. I placed my order immediately when I received my drinks. For the next 30 minutes I observed 3 people serving tables around me. The restaurant had between 3 and 5 tables occupied, so stuff to table ratio was 1:1. People on the other tables were constantly getting attention and some started to get their food even though they came after me. I figured-my order must be complex and good, they are cooking it. At no time during these 30 minutes did anyone came by and said anything or asked me if everything was ok. I also felt like-I was right there and there were only 4 tables-they MUST be aware I am here and waiting for food.

However, I was wrong. At about 1:06 am I flagged one waiter and said “what’s going on”. He looked at me and said “Do you want anything beside the drinks? “ I said “I already placed the order” He quickly went inside and started figuring things out. About 5 minutes later, the person who took my order came out and I said that somehow my food was given to other people and they have to make it again. “How??? The restaurant literally had 4 tables. How can you give my food to someone else??” He said “the salad will be on me, please wait 10 minutes for the food”. Being extremely hungry since about 4pm, I said “can you give me at least some food? “ He said sure, I will give you one taco. The taco and salad arrived 5-10 minutes later so I started eating. The rest of the food came shortly there after. The flavor was ok, but my night was already ruined, I was really tired and wanting just to finish and go home. Once I finished eating, the waiter was no- where to be found and I waited another 10 minutes before being able to flag him and ask for the check. Once I asked, I noticed that he went inside and started mixing drinks instead of bringing me the check. A while later( May be another 10 minutes) another guy brought the check that included the salad ( that was promised free) I told him that the salad should be free, he went back to check. Original waiter came out and said that since I got the free taco the salad won’t be free. I said “ok”. I then proceeded to pay and was told that paying by card will have 5% surcharge which he added as tip. I finally paid and left-it was 1:48am, so overall I spent 1 hour and 20 minutes in this restaurant. I have never seen service being so bad with visible 4 people working in a restaurant serving 4 Tables. I have not seen the restaurant being so cheap and penny punching after providing such a bad service. I mean-the whole meal should have been free., not just the taco. 5% card surcharge? Will def...

I am beyond impressed with the food and customer service here! I stumbled across this little gem when going out to eat with some friends, as a vegan, I’m always a little nervous going to places that have a very meat forward menu and was planning on not eating and just enjoying quality time with friends. Immediately upon arriving the owner greeted us and starting asking about food preferences. I explained to him my restrictions, and although they didn’t have anything specifically vegan on the menu the owner and his staff went out of their way to make sure I could eat. Making me a separate portion of animal free rice, I would have been happy with just that but he went the extra mile to also create two different vegetable sides to ensure I too got a well rounded meal. We’ve been back 2x since and each time they’ve created me an amazing tasty vegan dish without me even needing to say anything. The food is amazing and the service spectacular, if you have dietary restrictions as well don’t hesitate to try this amazing place! It’s truly a special thing when a restaurant actually cares about their patrons and making sure everyone has an excellent experience even if they need to make some modifications to their dishes to make it happen. I was also very pleasantly surprised to find out everything on their menu was fully organic. Would highly recommend to vegans, vegetarians, omnivores or anywhere in between. Will absolutely be dining here again before leaving Playa...

I will preface this by saying I NEVER leave reviews.

I came here because of the high reviews and I was craving some non Mexican food but do yourself a favor and sort by lowest reviews to see the truth about this place.

I got the spicy kebab plate and the portion of the actual kebab was so small that if I wasnt shocked, would have been hilarious. Like 4 tiny pieces of beef not even 50 grams. I pretty much had a plate full of rice that I had to eat alone after taking those first 4 bites.

Ok whatever, I chalked it up to some overpriced tourist restaurant (at $20 usd you would think they could at least make sure you don’t leave hungry) and just thought I’d never return. When the waiter asked me how it was at the end of my meal, he recommended that people get the “double portion” which is like 450pesos fyi.

But anyway to add insult to injury, waiter will try to scam you. The bill comes with 20% tip included already lol and he had the balls to put in that total amount into the card reader and THEN ask if I’d like to add an additional tip.

When I called him out on it and told him I’m sober and I live here in playa, he got flustered. Ended up putting some lower random amount than the bill and adding 10% tip so he’d still get something. I recommend the owner of this place really review this situation and take some quality control measures to fix it (including hiring more trust worthy staff)

Huge NO from me. Much better places to visit in playa...
