Sabrina - Tradizioni Italiane — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

My husband and I discovered this restaurant about a year ago and it has become our go-to restaurant whenever we want pizza, whether we are dining in or ordering pizza for delivery. Prices are extremely reasonable, with no pizzas coming in at over $205MX and are large enough to feed two hungry adults. Our favorite is the Saporita which has speck ham and truffle oil, but the Pesto pizza, the Diavola, the Prosciuto & Mushroom, and the Capriccosa are all very good too. They use good quality ingredients here, the crust is on the thinner side, and the pizza is cooked in a wood-fire oven so it's ready really quickly!

They also have a nice selection of desserts here and a very reasonable lunch special every day of the week that are worth checking out. Also, they will give you "agua de garrafon" (free filtered water) if you ask for it (though sometimes we have had to be a bit insistent about this).

I am docking one star because occasionally the person behind the counter can be a bit grumpy and service can sometimes be a bit lackluster. Also, this is a fairly small restaurant that is very popular and can get extremely busy during peak lunch and dinnertime hours; not their fault but they never seem to have more than one waiter working and so service definitely suffers then. since 4 Years i go to the Sabrinas on Constituyentes everytime i am in Playa del Carmen, and i really used to love going there!However i have to say, that over the last two years the service got increasingly worse!This morning i arrived there at 7.35, the waitress did put the menue on my table, braught my coffee and left!At 8.10 i finally got a chance to order my breakfast, because until then no one came out to take my order (yes, i could have gone in and order, but why should i?) It took another 30 minutes to get my scrambled eggs, and they where not even good!i would understand if there where a lot of people, but i was the only guest until 8.20!After eating, i asked for the check and had to wait another 10 minutes, by then i have had enough and went in to pay!I am very sorry, but that was my last visit there, the waiters and also the waitresses are not really friendly and more then one hour waiting time is quite honestly unexaptable!Not if one is the only guest, and i dont want to have my vacationday ruined by experiences like this, unfortionatly it was not the first time i experienced this...

Don't go to Sabrina! If you are looking for a place to enjoy delicious Italian food, I recommend that you keep looking. My recent visit to Sabrina was a great disappointment. To begin with, the service was terrible. Our server seemed to be more interested in talking to his friends than in attending to us. We had to wait an eternity for the order to be taken and then another eternity for the food to be brought to us. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, which was cold and bland. My friend ordered the pizza, which was burnt and hard. To top it off, the prices were ridiculous. We paid a fortune for mediocre food and terrible service. I don't know how this place stays open. I would not recommend it to anyone.
