BURRO PLAYERO is a small and cozy joint that serves up some delicious food and beverages. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying both their fish tacos and their Jugo de Piña, or Pineapple Juice.
Let's start with the fish tacos, which were absolutely delightful. The fish used in the tacos was incredibly fresh and seasoned to perfection. It had a firm and flaky texture that showcased its quality, and the seasoning added a burst of flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the fish. The tacos were expertly grilled, giving them a slight smokiness and a slightly crispy exterior while keeping the fish moist on the inside. The toppings, including crunchy cabbage, tangy pico de gallo, and zesty cilantro-lime crema, provided a wonderful balance of textures and flavors. The presentation of the dish was visually appealing, reflecting the care taken in its preparation. Overall, the fish tacos were a memorable culinary experience.
Now, let's talk about the Jugo de Piña. While the pineapple juice was tasty and refreshing, the serving size was on the smaller side. The juice had a bright and tropical flavor that showcased the natural sweetness of the pineapples. It was freshly made, evident from its vibrant color and delightful aroma. The sweetness was well-balanced, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. However, the smaller portion left me wanting more after just a few sips. Considering the price, a more generous serving would have been appreciated.
Despite the smaller serving size of the Jugo de Piña, the overall experience at BURRO PLAYERO was positive. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff added to the enjoyment of the meal. The fish tacos were the standout dish, with their fresh ingredients, expert cooking technique, and flavorful toppings.
In conclusion, if you visit BURRO PLAYERO, I highly recommend trying their fish tacos. They are a true testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The Jugo de Piña, while tasty, could benefit from a larger serving size. Regardless, BURRO PLAYERO is a cozy joint worth visiting for its delicious food and...
Read moreOrdered black ceviche, salad , wings and a club sandwich. Not one plate was good. The ceviche tasted like it had sat in the fridge for days , no flavor and it smelt bad almost. The wings were okay but tasted like oil in the fryer needed to be changed. The club sandwich was tiny , probably granny smith bread size with the crust cut off, the fries that accompanied it again had that fryer taste. The salad took the longest (1hr) wait and was thrown together with so little effort. We spent almost our whole time waiting for our food, and were so disappointed. Not to mention we paid for this meal (The waitress did not even ask why we’re sending back plates almost untouched) and they added a tip and still asked for another while paying. The waitress was okay but she did not once check on us or ask if we needed anything. This cost us $1300 mx pesos. About $80 us dollars (We didn’t want to make it a bigger deal and decided to pay it in full) . Please go somewhere else , it was a truly bad place and I would say there are...
Read moreI dined here with family in the last few days when we were in town for a tourist outing. We had 1 chicken burrito, 1 taco, 1 coke and 1 margarita. Our total was in pesos so we asked to have it converted in American dollars. We did this calculation on Google and with a built in calculator on our phones. Both options worked out to 36$ and change american. The server told us it was $48 but would not explain why. We cut our losses as none of us speak Spanish well enough to investigate this further, but I felt ripped off as we weren't locals and could not make sense of the bill differences and discuss this with our server. The food was okay and was hot, but was not one of the best burritos or tacos we have had. For this and the shady payment practices that it seems others have experienced from looking at reviews, I would not recommend...
