A Taste of Argentina in Playa del Carmen

If you are looking for a cozy and authentic spot to enjoy some of the best empanadas in town, look no further than Empanadas Argentinas, a small and charming establishment that offers a wide range of flavors and fillings.

Empanadas are a staple of Argentine cuisine, and Empanadas Argentinas does them justice with its homemade dough and fresh ingredients. You can choose from classic options like beef, chicken, cheese, and ham, or try some of the more adventurous combinations like spinach and cream, chorizo and cheese, or spicy beef. The empanadas are baked to perfection, with a crispy and flaky crust that melts in your mouth.

Whether you are a fan of empanadas or want to try them for the first time, you will not be disappointed by this place. It is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food and...

Excellent empanadas! So cheap and so delicious! We kept trying to go as we had read some other good reviews, but the first time we couldn't find it because it was raining so hard, then we tried to go on a day it was shut, then we were walking right past it but half an hour before it opened, so we finally made sure on our last day than we arrived at the right time and were not disappointed! It was worth the wait. I don't speak Spanish and the chef didn't speak English, so he used his phone to translate a question, and was very polite and friendly and said goodbye with big smiles. I wish we had found it sooner, it would have been a staple...

The empanadas are fine and the workers seemed nice. I ordered one chicken curry and one spicy beef, but they decided to give me three...I did not order three, I did not want three, I did not want to pay for three. Then I told them I liked the chimichurri when they bagged up my leftovers, but the worker wouldn't give me the leftover sauce. There were two salsas and a lot of it left...I guess they're going to reuse it for you? Sort of a dry bland empanada...and how long were they just sitting out in that display until they microwaved them for me? Everything was okay, but I recommend going to one of the other million...

although it is a bit expensive at 45 pesos per empanada, but it is delicious empanadas and a great variety of choices. not too oily like many other empanadas in mexico. no english is spoken, so please know a few basic phrases or have your translation app ready. they only accept cash. (para llevar - to go. para aqui - for here. solo efectivo - only cash. caliente - hot.) they will reheat the empanadas for you and provide delicious salsas. try them out at least once on your trip!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! We made a pit stop in Playa del Carmen on the way back from Tulum/Coba and decided to use majority of our allotted time to give this highly rated gem a try. We tried Carne, Carne Picante, Chicken, Chipotle Chicken, Curry Chicken, and 3 cheese. Let's just say all were hittin'! Would love to go back, not sure we'll have time this trip, but for sure next time we're in Playa, we'll know where to go for empanadas.

Hearty empanadas, filled to the brim. I tried the carne al vino tinto and pollo chipotle. The rich flavours of red wine really come through in the carne al vino. The chipotle was oddly sweet, which I — personally — did not enjoy. The empanadas come with two sauces, one with chillies and the other packed with herbs. Both are pretty subtle so they don’t overpower the empanadas.
