Onyx Bar — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

I am utterly appalled and compelled to warn others after witnessing a horrifying incident at this bar. A tourist was brutally attacked by the staff, resulting in him tragically losing his left eye. The violence was unprovoked, initiated by a staff member with a vicious first punch. This place is not just unsafe; it’s a danger to its patrons. The billing practices are equally scandalous, with rampant overcharging. The management preys on tourists, showing a disdainful and predatory attitude. I'm staying at the hotel on the same street from Friday (it's Saturday at 3:00 am now), and I couldn't sleep until this bar is closed around 2:30 am and the excited screaming people are going away after 3 am...😂 The bar ruins my days at Playa Del Carmen, preventing sleeping and waking up in the morning for activities.

My favorite 4 star bar in PDC. With a rustic interior and below deck for music or grooves, I absolutely love their refreshing margarita and gin basil smash. Every time I come to PDC I have to visit! I love their animations projected on their blank wall which makes me feel like I can doze off and look at it if I’m feeling like disassociating. Come as you are.
